Category gymnast[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I notice you added Category:Gymnasts to the Kyle Shewfelt. This category doesn;t actually belong on the article as he is already in Category:Canadian gymnasts. All articles only go in the most specific categories possible. - SimonP 04:16, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC) --

Easter Island[edit]

Regarding your edit (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Easter_Island&diff=18250207&oldid=15947816), please don't delete a bunch of stuff without explaining what you're up to, it looks like vandalism. If there's some legit reason, eg, a bunch of commercial links or whatnot, then say so. Uncommented 'delete a bunch o stuff' changes are suspicious. - Chairboy 6 July 2005 14:30 (UTC)

in regards to what i did on the easter island page, many of the external links were irrelevant because sites already linked contained the same information. i don't understand how it can be considered vandalism or even 'delete a bunch o stuff', all i did was delete some external links and reworded a few sentences. CheeseLover 06:35, July 15, 2005 (UTC)

Regarding the edit, makes sense now that you explain it, but most people can't read your mind, hence the edit summary, especially when it's removing content. Someone else thought those links were useful, do them the courtesy of at least saying why you disagree as you take 'em out. A "Cleaned up redundant links" can do wonders. And caaaalm down. - Chairboy 14:41, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

why do you feel the need to have a whinge when somebody hasn't left a reason for editing? most users do it all the time - wikipedia articles are always edited mercilessly. it should've been pretty obvious why i edited - this is not google, why would somebody need numerous external links when they've got an encyclopaedia article in front of them? i want to hear why it could be considered vandalism - i havent gone in a written "i love john, he's got great bitch tits" CheeseLover 10:59, July 18, 2005 (UTC)

My suggestion is essentially 'use the Edit Summary so people know what you're doing and why'. It's a suggestion, and you're not obligated to follow it or anything. I didn't write the article, and I didn't add those links. If I thought it was straight up vandalism, I would have just reverted your change, but it looked borderline, so I inquired with you here. The Edit summary isn't mandatory, but it IS a tool that you can use to help prevent unfortunate misunderstandings. Whether you choose to use it or not is up to you, of course, and I'm not gonna try and club you over the head with it. In regards to you cheese question on my user page, we've got plenty, but nothing beats a nice Bobka or Paska dish. - Chairboy 14:22, 18 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Noelfielding.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag, so its copyright status is therefore unclear. Please add a tag to let us know its copyright status. (If you created/took the picture then you can use {{gfdl}} to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use {{fairuse}}.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know on the image description page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Otherwise, see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Thanks so much. --Secretlondon 12:21, 9 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The image you uploaded, Image:Bogarde.jpg, has no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

This message notification has been automatically sent by NotificationBot managed and run by AllyUnion. Please leave comments regarding bot operations at AllyUnion's talk page. Image copyright problem with Image:Rhythmicgymgroup.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rhythmicgymgroup.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you have questions about copyright tagging of images, post on Wikipedia talk:Image copyright tags or User talk:Carnildo/images. 13:14, 12 March 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Rhythmicgymnastics.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Rhythmicgymnastics.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Non-free use disputed for Image:Steerpike.jpg[edit]

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Steerpike.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:35, 3 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lestat-townsend.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Lestat-townsend.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 14:24, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Stevecoogan.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Stevecoogan.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. JaGatalk 17:30, 8 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello CheeseLover! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
