Eddie Griffin's Personal Life[edit]

The article says he got married in 1983? That would make him 14. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.218.123.138 (talk) 22:50, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In the article, it says that Eddie Griffin has 1 child, born in 1986...I happen to know for a fact that Eddie has plenty of children, at least 4...with women all over North America TanGyal 13:36, 27 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know this to be fact, as well. And that he has an unrecognized son with autism living near Toronto, Canada... and yet, someone keeps changing this information on the page - why is that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cloudmerchant (talkcontribs) 21:47, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This keeps getting removed because you cannot make such a statement without a reference to back it up... your own personal knowledge does not constitute a sourced and verifiable statement. Please see Wikipedia:Attribution. If you can find a reputable source (I could not) for this information, please use it as a reference when you re-add the statement. -- ChadScott (talk) 22:33, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How is that something you can reference? I can't prove the existence of anyone at all, but people are generally believed to exist. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cloudmerchant (talkcontribs) 00:27, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to prove the existence of anyone... you simply have to provide a reference to the information you're adding. This could be a news story available online from a reputable news outlet or website. In this case, to fit the attribution requirements, you need to provide a link to a story about this child, that he/she has autism, and that they're directly related to Eddie Griffin. For guidance and an example, look at the attributions already available in the article... specifically, the attribution for "100 Greatest Stand-ups of All Time" and "We will pay Mr. Griffin all that we owe him but we will not allow him to finish the show if that's the way he's going to talk." -- ChadScott (talk) 06:53, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the attribution... the one you provided shows that Eddie is paying support, so I removed the statement that he is not. I know it seems nit-picky, but for biographical pages we have a very high standard, especially for negative information. If you can find a reference that he no longer pays support or that he never started, include that as well. -- ChadScott (talk) 06:53, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Selected filmography[edit]

As per Wikipedia is not a collection of lists, I have reduced the "Filmography" section to just the films that have Wiki articles, and renamed it to "Selected filmography" ... people can click the IMDb External link at the end of the article to see the subject's full filmography with links to information about each of their films.

I have also used [[19xx in film|19xx]] tags for the years of the films, something that Some Other Editors do not appear to understand, since they seem to think that just linking [[19xx]] somehow has encyclopedic value.

Anonymous edits without comments may be reverted by anyone.

I am placing this boilerplate message on this Discussion page before I actually make the changes, so that I can just put "see Discussion page" in the edit summary, and hopefully not have my edit summarily reverted as vandalism by Some Other Editor.

Trivia Section Deletion[edit]

Please do not delete the trivia section. Wikipedia's new trivia section guidelines are stupid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 155.247.166.28 (talk) 01:16, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Voodoo Child[edit]

As Eddie is noted primarily as a comedian, shouldn't his 1997 show Voodoo Child be listed somewhere? I would add it myself but I'm not up to speed with all Wikipedia's rules and regulations, so I thought I'd just present the idea. Cheers. --Lovemonk. 16:06, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please add it if you feel it should be there. One of Wikipedia's tenets is be bold. -- ChadScott (talk) 06:56, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Strange[edit]

I'm not from the US and this striked me as totaly bizarre - "...married [...] when he was 15 years old" - How can someone get married at the age 15? What state recognizes marriage at that age? Don't you have some minimum age restriction to marry? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.102.38.100 (talk) 22:53, 28 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Seeker: Wild Run[edit]

"He will be starring alongside Charlie Sheen, Jason Momoa, Emily Blunt, Robin Wright, Dolph Lundgren, Lindsey Stirling, Connie Nielsen and Selena Gomez in The Seeker: Wild Run."

Has anyone heard of this movie? I tried googling it, and the only references to it's existence are on other pages about Eddie Griffin and are clearly copied and pasted from this wiki. I have yet to see any evidence that a film by that title was ever in development, and I was not under the impression that a sequel to the 2007 film The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising was ever intended, let alone one featuring Charlie Sheen, Jason Momoa, and Selena Gomez.

While this section of the wiki should almost certainly be deleted for lacking attribution and also being completely batshit, I am now deeply obsessed with trying to uncover why the original editor included it in the first place, and I have created an account and posted here for the first time solely in the hopes of finding more information about this or at least bringing attention to how bizarre it is. If anyone else can find any reference to or mention of this film, or an interview, or a blog post, or literally anything that could have convinced the person who originally posted that here that it was a real thing, please shed light on it for me.
