List of OOtS comics

I went ahead and adding the List of the Order of the Stick comics link to the OOtS main page. A lot of times, people look at the "what links here" as a way to determine if an article should stay or be deleted. I figured that if the list is linked from the main article, it would be less likely to be deleted. Also, if people see the list linked from the main article, they may be more likely to edit it and contribute to the list. I hope my reasons make sense, and if you feel I am incorrect, go ahead and remove the link. It's good to see another OOtS fan out here! Amalas =^_^= 14:18, 2 June 2006 (UTC)

(( Update: the list has since been moved to Comixpedia:The Order of the Stick (index). ))

Shippūden

Hey again! One last thing about the title is that you put "lit..." after the Japanese...this kind of takes away the purpose of not including an English title. We don't want to tell people what something is called until it has been officially announced, in this case, in English. And, "lit." wouldn't be Hurricane Chronicles, the literal translation of those three characters would be Swift Wind Legend.....not HC, which I'm sure, you're very fond of :)Shao-Yoshi 00:39, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Shippū is the Japanese word commonly used for hurricanes. They're not referring to merely "swift" or moderately blowing winds, so "gale" and "squall" and other words are out. They're obviously meaning the word in a spiraling sense, which leaves us with hurricane, typhoon or cyclone. Cyclones are called teikiatsu, typhoons are called gufū. Hurricanes are called shippū, as well as gufū, obviously, since hurricanes are typhoons. As such, in this case, "hurricane" is a literal translation of shippū, and the only appropriate one.
The -den suffix is used to express that the noun is some communication on the subject. So, a story, or a tale, a legend, or whatnot. The other senses of -den are inappropriate to the context. Chronicle is a possible choice, though it lacks the explicit meaning of active communication. We'd not be able to make this choice ourselves if it were not for existing, first-party precedence. Looking at Naruto: Uzumaki Chronicles (うずまき忍伝, Uzumaki Ninden), see the use of the word in official translations. Technically, it would have been the Uzimaki Ninja Chronicles, but they committed the nin-.
So, in short. Not only is Hurricane Chronicles one of many valid literal translations, it is the most valid one given context and precedence. But, anyway. Regardless of what is or what is not... Fans are calling it Hurricane Chronicles for the moment. We need that somewhere in the article, and placing it as the literal translation for Shippūden seems acceptable. –Gunslinger47 01:17, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
For someone who says he does not know Japanese, you cite sources well :). The most common word for hurricanes in Japanese is actually the English word ハリケーン (Harikeen). There have been many previous titles with ~den after them that have been officially translated as Legend by professional translators. Most of these were mythological ones, and since Naruto takes much from Japanese mythology it could be surmised that could be ONE possible title. But, let's agree that Shippuden is fine for now. Just that, citing from forums isn't really a good source.Shao-Yoshi 01:39, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
I can agree with the use of Shippūden. My blurb above was just to point out that Hurricane Chronicles can be called a literal translation.
The only sources I'm citing are Japanese-to-English dictionaries and texts on the Japanese language. Harike~n is derived from the word hurricane itself (which in turn is derived from huracán) and is probably the most common word used, but that's beside my point. I'm simply asserting that hurricane is a valid, literal translation of shippū given the context. –Gunslinger47 17:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Not sure what to call this

(( regarding Talk:Naruto/Archive 5#On Hurricane Chronicles's premiere date ))

Look man I take offense to what you said on the Naruto Talk Page "All I can tell from your user page is that you're an angry Jewish fellow who owns a dog and likes sarcasm. If that's the case, you'll like this you really ought to add {{User en-1}} to your user page if you difficulty understanding English." I am not a imagrate from Isreal my great grandparents came from The former Soviet Union to escape prosecution. I've lived in the U.S. for all my life I live in Indiana, I go to a middle school, I get all A's, I'm in an honors class, I undertstand basic English, I'm just not good at spelling, I'm not an angry person infact I don't like being angry but when people get on my bad side I get a little irratable (you have to remember I love to make jokes so when I make one it's not my bad side talking). Name a way I'm a troll. I'm thinking of leaving Wikipedia because of people like Someguy 0830. Reply sooner than latter.Sam ov the blue sand 02:15, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

Oh now you remove the troll refrence be a man put it back I know you think of me that way and reply I know your there don't ignore me. Please reply.Sam ov the blue sand 02:33, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
I was indirectly calling you a troll by placing the reference there, and I'm sorry for that. It was really uncalled for and I hoped to replace it with the Civility link before you saw it.
The "Jewish" reference was in response to your userboxes that clearly say "This user is Jewish". I'm in no way confusing you as an Israeli. Your user boxes also state that "This user is angry".
The en-1 comment was clearly labeled sarcasm, which your user boxes say you appreciate. "This user believes sarcasm is the highest form of wit." I've edited my comments there even further to help you understand my meaning. That said, you do seem to have difficulty with your reading comprehension. –Gunslinger47 02:54, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Remember what I said about my bad side well he's out. If you would have read the entire user page you would have seen I'm halve Cacholic and halve Jewish buddy you actually remind me of Someguy 0830 (heard of him he's a pest). I actually like how you don't hide your fealings about me (unlike Someguy 0830). but you didn't tell me why I'm a troll so tell me. And I don't have difficulty with my reading comprehension you, aghhh no I won't use curse words here. Reply Soon.Sam ov the blue sand 03:19, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
The word I used earlier was "belligerent". If you've yet to look it up, I meant it in the sense of being goading; willing to fight. Your responses seem designed to provoke equally aggressive responses. In a moment of oversight (roughly 13 minutes in duration), I presumed to guess your intentions as being deliberately disruptive. I was not assuming good faith, and for that I'm sorry. –Gunslinger47 03:37, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
Give me an example (a link if you will).Sam ov the blue sand 19:21, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
An example of your hostile tone?
You think we're stupid or something we read the same manga you do. I think most of us know this already The great kawa just made a mistake when he posted, so don't go around saying you know every thing about NHC because you know just as much as us.Sam ov the blue sand 04:05, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
That's from Talk:Naruto#On Hurricane Chronicles's premiere date. This is one example of the generally angry tone. It wasn't my first choice of links (unfortunately), but I really do recommend that you read Wikipedia:Civility. This is an official guideline and deals with how you should communicate during a dispute. One piece of advice that I often find useful is to avoid the word "you" and the like. Do not speak directly to others, instead direct your comments towards the general public. As Someguy loves to point out: this is not an Internet forum. –Gunslinger47 00:39, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
I see your piont I was angry that day and I have read Wikipedia:Civility. But how am I to direct my comment to everyone, I don't want to affend anyone like Iriseyes did to me. Please don't bring up Someguy I'm having a bad day with him.Sam ov the blue sand 00:58, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
It's impossible to control what people are offended by, sadly. All you can do is try not to be offended yourself, or calmly explain your feelings to your offender, or just ignore them as best you can. –Gunslinger47 01:10, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
I see (says the blind man) what you are talking about, thankyou. But you see the subject of some contreversity is my jokes all I try to do is lighten up the mode around these Naruto related articles, is that so wrong.Sam ov the blue sand 02:58, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
When you are angry and try to make a joke, it comes off as jeering. It does the opposite of lightening the mood. You have to be careful when speaking ironically online, as people tend not to "get it". As a rather personal example, you didn't understand me when I said you should put Template:User en-1 onto your page. That was a joke on your recent misunderstandings, in the context of my user box references, which were in the context of you saying that I should have looked at Iriseyes' userpage. ^_^
My suggestion? If you're joking, place a smiley face or something. If people know your general mood, it can help them decipher your meaning more accurately. –Gunslinger47 03:20, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
Thanks how do you put a smiley face when I want to? Never mind I figured it out thankyou I have changed for the better now.Sam ov the blue sand 23:53, 28 November 2006 (UTC)

Time index 00:39

(( regarding: Bleach: Memories of Nobody ))

How are you certain that the scene shown there is not from the movie. It seems that the scene is the same one as in the normal Rolling Star intro but there is no way you can know that that scene in the intro is not from the movie. Given that the original Rolling Star intro contained spoilers maybe that orange sky scene was a spoiler from the movie. Gdo01 04:06, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

As the movie isn't released yet, we can't know precisely what scenes are from the movie. It's safe to say that nearly all of the scenes in the new opening sequences are from the movie (the pattern is pretty obvious), however the one scene at 00:39 stands out. It was in the previous sequence, as you mentioned. This adds the tiniest bit of reasonable doubt, which extends doubt to the Rukia scene as well. Further, remember that the recent opening sequences have contained "one-shot" stills that contained content from Part II. Now, this was not a still, but for all we know, it could be replaced by some other Part II spoiler next week.
Anyway, sorry for rambling on. The point is, there is reasonable doubt, and thus we cannot state it as fact with absolute certainty. –Gunslinger47 04:19, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Well my argument is that you cannot say with absolute certainty that the clip at that point is not from the movie. I think the "The opening sequence contains at least one more scene that is not certainly from the movie, at time index 00:39" part of the note should be deleted. I think it is sufficient without it and there is no proof its not in. Gdo01 04:56, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
I am not firmly set against removing the note, but I'm afraid I have to argue with your logic. We can't, on Wikipedia, assert a fact when the only evidence is that there is nothing that disproves it. Would you like to take this to Talk:Bleach (manga) so we can get input from the others? –Gunslinger47 05:17, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
What's wrong with the note just saying "While it is strongly suggested, it is not certain if this scene comes from the unreleased movie." That way there would be no assertion about how the scene at 00:39 is probably not in the movie. Gdo01 05:20, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
Ah, I understand what you're getting at. I mentioned 00:39 because it was was some evidence to backup by doubt. I felt I had to explain my uncertainty. I'll remove it now as you request. –Gunslinger47 05:26, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

Browns-Steelers Rivalry

Dude, that Danny guy is a jackass. Why did my article get deleted? I did it perfectly and spend a lot of time on it to learned how to write an article. I keep improving it and it still got deleted. I keep getting people around to help me, and it still got deleted. What the hell, man? You seem like a nicer guy than most jackasses in here, so tell me why it got deleted? —Preceding unsigned comment added by French Bodybuilder (talkcontribs)

User:Danny Lilithborne nominated your entry for deletion. After that, there was a deletion debate where people were invited to show their support or opposition for the deletion. Here is a link to the debate: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Steelers vs. Browns. I see that you did not contribute to the debate, which you were entitled to.
Anyway, if you look at the list, it appears that a total of sixteen different users all supported the article's deletion, including the original nominator. No one spoke in its defense. Everyone explained their reasons for their positions. Here is a quick overview of them.
Delete because it's original research. (6 vote)
This term gets tossed around a lot, and it is often applied incorrectly. In many cases, this confusion is just due to a lack of references. See Wikipedia:No original research for more on the subject.
Delete because of indiscriminate information. (5 vote)
Articles generally need to be more than just a collection of information. If statistical information is added to a subject's article, it should assist in the overall discussion of the subject and not be the main focus itself. See WP:NOT#INDISCRIMINATE for a little bit of help on the subject.
Delete because it's unreferenced. (3 vote)
Deleting an article solely because it has no references is controversial, but it is a contributing factor. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for more help.
Delete because it's unencyclopedic. (5 vote)
Different people have different notions of what qualifies as "encyclopedic". For information about content not suitable for Wikipedia, see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not.
Delete because it's non-notable. (6 vote)
What is and is not notable is a point of great debate. Often smaller subjects should be included within a higher-level article. Such as within sports rivalry or significant rivalries in the NFL, for example. Wikipedia:Notability tries to define this subject.
Delete because it's fancruft. (2 vote)
This is a slightly derogatory term. What it means in this context is that the subject has no importance outside of the interests of a small fan community. Basically, it is a claim to non-notability. See Wikipedia:Fancruft.
So, the consensus appears to be... Your article provided statistical information as its primary focus. The topic of the article itself wasn't discussed sufficiently, and within the content that was present, there were unreferenced claims, possibly acquired from your personal experience. Furthermore, not only does the rivalry have little significance outside of its own context, but even within the context of the NFL it doesn't stand as one of the more notable rivalries. Discussion on the subject should be placed into higher-level articles such as sports rivalry or significant rivalries in the NFL, if anywhere at all.
Please note that the above is the combined opinion of those people who deleted your article. I only had a moment to glance at your articles, so I can't make an educated judgement on the subject myself. –Gunslinger47 05:29, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Can we talk

Can we talk about some of my problems, you're the only one who is nice about it.Sam ov the blue sand 00:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

If you submit a contribution that decreases the quality of an article, you are making work for other editors. Someone will be forced to choose between reverting your edits or spending time cleaning up the mess you created. Spelling mistakes are only a smaller part of this; there are many things in a contribution that could decrease the overall quality of the article in the process of adding new information.
Have you been taught how to write essays and research papers? They tried to teach me how to write several times through my years of schooling, but I only managed to pick up the basics. Stuff like sentence and paragraph flow... and stuff, but I still write no good so perhaps I'm not the one to be giving advice on the subject. :)
For a mechanical solution, try this: Download and install the Google Toolbar. I don't know about IE, but with Firefox, you don't have to use the entire toolbar, and can just take a single one of its buttons and place it on your existing toolbar. This is what I do, and I only use the spellcheck button. If you click it, it'll spellcheck all the text fields on a webpage and underline spelling errors. Click on the underlined text and a drop-down list box will appear with possible corrections. –Gunslinger47 00:46, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
1. How do I get Firefox?
2. But sometimes what I think I'm editing is a good edit.
3. Yes I have learned that stuff.
4. And is there anything wrong with just wanting to be at the talk pages rather than making edits?Sam ov the blue sand 02:52, 4 February 2007 (UTC)
  1. http://www.getfirefox.com The GoogleToolbar will work with IE, however.
  2. So do I, but I am also reverted from time to time. Be bold, but don't take it personally someone reverts you. Listen to what they say, try to work with them, then try again with a different approach.
  3. Then you've learned more than me! :)
  4. Nothing's wrong with just participating on the talk pages, assuming you keep civil and otherwise follow the rules. Remember that the end goal of all edits to talk pages is to improve Wikipedia articles.
Is there something else specific you wanted me to comment on? –Gunslinger47 03:05, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Sharpe's Triumph

(message moved from User talk:MsHyde#Plot summaries)

I've reviewed your debate over Sharpe's Triumph (novel). MsHyde, unless you can provide a specific case where the plot summary either adopts a significant point of view or makes a strong interpretation, there is absolutely no reason for any tags whatsoever, let alone ones calling for references beyond the core material.

"if book refs itself, the whole plot summary is OR by Wiki author--needs reviews, etc."

You said this, and it's incorrect. Assuming that we know the source material, gathering information never falls under Wikipedia's concept of OR, only the interpretation of said information can. I don't mean "interpretation" as in understanding a coherent and straightforward plot either. If, for example, you wanted to discuss how the chess game in the Philosopher's Stone is a metaphor for the series as a whole, you'd need to provide a reference to published speculation. Without any speculation, a plot summary is just a chronological list of facts.

"plot summaries can be subjective"

While true, you really ought to assert that a plot summary is subjective prior to tagging it as such. Explaining precisely what your contention is can also help greatly when calling into question the quality of someone else's work.

"Wikipedia articles are not supposed to consist of plot summaries..."

A common misunderstanding. After WP:NOT#IINFO describes its purpose, it goes on to give a number of examples. These examples are used to further explain WP:NOT#IINFO and are not specifically intended to condemn the points in question. Regarding plot summaries, for example... if one can justify why the inclusion of plot details is pertinent, and thus not indiscriminate, then they are acceptable. Usually this justification is that an the included plot summary is subsidiary to the article, or group of articles as a whole. I'm not saying that the plot summary in Sharpe's Triumph passes this test, by the way. I'm just saying that your statement is a straw man argument against plot summaries in general, and is irresponsible. –Gunslinger47 21:58, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

Do the Naruto characters have super strength, super speed, etc.

There's been a dispute between me and Someguy0830 about whether I should add the two superhuman categories to the characters. Someguy0830 says that "one flaw/inconsistency does not make a precedent move". I say, if a character like Naruto or Kakashi can perform a "Body Flicker Technique" (where a ninja goes 'poof') then why not add the superspeed category to the character's main page or include it in Category:Naruto characters? Know what I mean? Also, some of the characters have superhuman strength also, right? Why can't I add that category to some of the Naruto characters also? Someguy0830 continues with his "One mistake doesn't make a precedential move" - what the hell is that supposed mean, right? There are no mistakes in the manga/anime (probably in filler) when it comes to a character using a super ability at least once in the series that us humans in real-life can't perform. Anyways, we (or I) really need another person's opinion on this. Thanks! Power level (Dragon Ball) 21:20, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm back! So, you feel that it's innapropiate to add the super categories to any of the Naruto characters, even though some of them can do thinhs humans can't do? Power level (Dragon Ball) 00:15, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I would never regard a contribution as "nonsense" unless it actually is. Further, I only replied to Ancientanubis in the **cough** tone that he seems to be fond of, which is why it cannot strike him as being offensive in this particular situation. my edit comments

yeah a recent wave of idiots editing bleach has struck. i'm tired of reverting orb of distortion and other such faggotry. i call them idiots cuz thats what they are acting like, i'm not known for patience lol. my bad on that. the comment on the removal of bunshichi's nicknames wasn't disrespectful imo, and that wasn't the intent. the 3rd wasn't being a dick i really wanted to know where he got that shit from, cuz i have the entire manga and don't recall any more detailed explanation of ishiyumi's gate. it could be some extra shit from ultra jump (its happened before...see the trivia bullet on Katsumi Kabuto's name.)

i cuss a lot, some people take it as being pissed or rude in text format...i don't intend that, its just reader bias. if someone has a problem with it they can say so on my talk page and i'll explain it to them, or cease to curse when its in regards to their edits and such. don't think cuz i'm cursing i'm trying to be a dick or something. --Grimjaw 04:30, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Kamoebas

Accepted. I do know what has happened; the article "Kamoeba" existed as duplicates with different spellings; The one I dfeleted was short and rubbish, but clearly it's talk-page redirected to the real article. It was a mistake, and I will restore it (unless someone already has).--Anthony.bradbury 19:01, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

InvaderSora

I know I am in no position to do so, but I feel that, while he violated WP:SOCK maybe an indef. block is too much. He obviously wants to contribute productivly. Isn't there some form of probation on Wikipedia? Quatreryukami 02:19, 15 April 2007 (UTC)

Are you under the impression that this user was given an indefinite block for violating WP:SOCK alone? He was already blocked indefinitely prior to this violation. As for probation, this user has been given plenty of chances. Let me step you through it.
  • January 20, 2007: Toajaller3146 blocked for 12 hours due to 3RR
  • January 22, 2007: Toajaller3146 blocked for 24 hours due to 3RR
  • February 25, 2007: Toajaller3146 blocked for 48 hours due to 3RR[7]
  • March 10, 2007: InvaderSora blocked for 48 hours to do 3RR
  • March 14, 2007: InvaderSora blocked for 1 week for repeatedly removing an AFD template
  • March 17, 2007: InvaderSora's 1 week block is reset for repeatedly posting {{unblock}}
  • March 19, 2007: InvaderSora's 1 week block is reset for block avoidance with IP account
  • March 31, 2007: InvaderSora blocked indefinitely for 3RR[8]
  • April 5, 2007: Toa Mario blocked for 24 hours due to 3RR
  • April 8, 2007: Toa Mario blocked for 48 hours due to 3RR
  • April 8, 2007: Toa Mario blocked for 1 week for repeatedly posting {{unblock}}[9]

Re: Multi-uses

Yeah, I had meant to mention something there, but I got side-tracked with other things. Anyway, I've compiled a list of images used only in the episode lists and the subsequent episode articles. I probably could have replaced some of these as well, but not all the Naruto images on Wikipedia source what episode they're from, and I otherwise couldn't figure out which episode a specific image belonged to. So, do with the list what you will. ~SnapperTo 03:41, 21 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm looking for something to do on the naruto pages but I don't want to wikify the episodes. Can you think of anything? Sam ov the blue sand, My Talk, And if you feel like spying on me 21:35, 1 May 2007 (UTC)

I've been working on images lately, and there is still much to do. My current task is to go through Verde830's uploads[10] and scale them all down to 288p. He had the unfortunate habit of uploading screenshots at 1280x1024. While I'm scaling them down, I'm also giving them full summaries and fair-use justifications. See Image:Asuma's Trench Knives.JPG for an example of my current work. Another thing to do is to check through all of the Category:Naruto images again looking for orphans. Much of the orphans were deleted yesterday, but recent changes have likely orphaned a whole lot more.
Finally, one thing I'm thinking of doing is placing all images in Category:Naruto anime screenshots and sorting them by the episode number of their source. –Gunslinger47 22:28, 1 May 2007 (UTC)
Ahh, oh well. I just wanted to convert the format real quick-like. 02:44, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Oh and do you think I should change my sig? Sam ov the blue sand, My Talk, And if you feel like spying on me 21:03, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
At 486 characters, you are over twice the 200 character figure discribed as excessive in Wikipedia:Signatures. The length guidelines suggest against signatures that take up more than one line in the editing box (100+ characters). –Gunslinger47 21:15, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
How about this? Sam ov the blue sand, My Talk, My crap 21:22, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
It's the length of the code that the policy is talking about. If you want to cut it down, I suggest getting rid of the Talk and Contributions links. Unless you're an administrator, it's not usually worth it to have them there. Besides, I use WP:POPUPS so they're entirely useless for me. –Gunslinger47 21:25, 2 May 2007 (UTC)
The recent non-free image jihad appears to have cut down the work needed on Naruto images greatly. We've gone for 800 images to what will probably end up being around 100. –Gunslinger47 21:25, 2 May 2007 (UTC)

Image:1992 Rapture.jpg

Thanks for the input on Image:1992 Rapture.jpg. I'd be worried about marking it {{PD-because}}, just because of the ambiguity surrounding that. Certainly, the tag that's been put there requesting a smaller version makes sense, and I'll scale it down for that reason. But yes, you have the general idea of what happened. This was part of a Korean cult movement that happened around 1992, and for some reason had a strong offshoot in New England in the U.S. These posters appeared all over the area, and lasted for a long time (in some cases, more than 10 years). The original creator of the posters is probably not something we can find out, so I presumed that we need to treat this as a case of fair use. Is there a policy somewhere that suggests that that's not the case? -Harmil 20:49, 15 May 2007 (UTC)

Need I Point Out

(deleted comments moved from User talk:SanchiTachi&oldid=133546107 for completeness)

Regarding this edit, this is in line with the current understanding of Wikipedia:Non-free content. Images that serve primarily as article decorations (especially on lists, as of late) fail fair use justifications. The covers of the individual graphical novels alone is pushing it. –Gunslinger47 23:56, 25 May 2007 (UTC)

[Need I point out] that your above two contributions to your talk page shows a conflict of interest regarding the non-compliancy of fair use? Furthermore, the images were there and are vital to educational purposes. It complies 100% with fair use. "establish context" That is the purpose of fair use. Educational value is only attained when providing a connection between both comic and minature, as the page is designed 100% for that purpose. SanchiTachi 00:02, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
"[Need I point out] that your above two contributions to your talk page shows a conflict of interest regarding the non-compliancy of fair use?"
I dislike the recent hysteria on Wikipedia and am having difficulty understanding it all. You see, fair use law does not equal Wikipeida fair use policy. It is not intuitive, so I'm tripping up on all the rules written only in as abstract consensus on talk pages. This doesn't mean that I'm going to ignore them, however. I'm not going to disrupt Wikipedia to illustrate a point.
"Furthermore, the images were there and are vital to educational purposes. It complies 100% with fair use. "establish context" That is the purpose of fair use. Educational value is only attained when providing a connection between both comic and minature, as the page is designed 100% for that purpose. SanchiTachi 00:02, 26 May 2007 (UTC)"
You didn't make your intention clear in your fair use justification for your images, so misunderstandings are understandable. If your intention was to express a visual connection between the world of comics and miniatures, you'll need to state so explicitly. Under resolution 4 of Wikimedia:Resolution:Licensing policy, images lacking correct rationals are subject to deletion. Until you explained yourself here, I had assumed that you uploaded the miniatures to demonstrate the characters in question.
While we're on this subject, the article as you envisioned it, User:SanchiTachi/Graphic Novels, does not explain this "connection between both comic and minature" that you mentioned. Is this an academic connection, or as connected as, say, Lord of the Rings and a Frodo action figure? –Gunslinger47 00:50, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
The Liscencing used is the standard for all Warhammer Promotional Miniatures. We have already attained admin approval and the issue was already discussed and verified. Please try not to interfere with things you know nothing about. Thanks. SanchiTachi 01:05, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
I'm not speaking of the licensing tag. It is appropriate, but your fair use rational (on Image:Leonatos.jpg, for example) is unacceptably vague.
SanchiTachi, my intention is not to interfere, but to help. I see that you are having difficulty with other users (Someguy in particular) and I have some experience in successfully mediating such disputes.
The fact is your miniature images are currently not on the list of Warhammer 40,000 graphic novels and this has noticeably upset you. Wouldn't you like me to help you understand why consensus is against you?
As a side note, this is your second use of ad hominem against me in as many posts.Gunslinger47 01:35, 26 May 2007 (UTC)

RFC

As you were previously involved I thought you may wish to take part Wikipedia:Requests_for_comment/Mark_Kim.--Crossmr 04:07, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

I've made some comments on the talk page. My response to Mark Kim was simply because he put a solution to me to solve the issue which I thought was both unworkable and unreasonable. As well I clarified the purpose of the RfC, because his response seemed to completely miss the mark as he indicated he felt it was about individual issues and not his behaviour overall.--Crossmr 20:40, 23 June 2007 (UTC)

AN/I issue

I appreciate your response to my complaint. I replied as follows:

"While he might be interpreting that correctly, it doesn't need to come with 10 pounds of Angry in a 5-pound bag, which is what the complaint is about (and not whether he is right about how 'citation needed' tags are to be used). It's one thing to point out when someone does something a little bit wrong; its quite another to turn it into a series of personal attacks. I would ask that you maybe look a little bit deeper?"

My complaint was not questioning the proper usage of cn tags, but rather as to the vitriol with which ThuranX responded. I didn't feel it was either necessary or conducive to a polite editing environment. he was called on his behavior by another editor, and I even apologized for whatever slight I may have done him, and he turned that into an attack as well. The user just seems angry all the time, and while I used to like the guy, I am seeing this curtness as a little more unbalanced han the norm. - Arcayne (cast a spell) 19:47, 22 June 2007 (UTC)

deidara

why dont you want to put deidara under the former members. In his article it says that "As a last resort, Deidara has an additional mouth on his chest that, once being unsealed and provided with clay, turns himself into a living bomb that destroys everything in a 10 kilometer radius". Even in the chapter he says in the new chapter that death will transform me into a work of art. Not only that we seen him transform in to that black bomb thingy.

Take it up on Talk:Akatsuki (Naruto) where they're discussing it. It seems they want to wait a week for certainty, though there is admittedly little hope of Deidara surviving this. –Gunslinger47 21:07, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Yurakb4.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Yurakb4.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 18:10, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

I don't see a serious problem there. If Whocares was not able to convince you of the need to keep the article, raising an AfD might move the conversation forward. Either way, the debate would end in a few days. –Gunslinger47 01:19, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
HA like it matters no on posted one my editor review for 2 days. I don't like Whocares at all, he's so full of himself and thinks he's all that just because he made one article and convinced people to split of the Akatsuki article. And I don't like to be talked down to and that was exacly what he was doing. But I do plan on merging Itachi into that article because I don't see why he's exempt from every other member. Although it could be the drugs talking (antibiotics that is) I do feel dizzy and light headed so I'm going to bed and hopefully I'll be able to think straight tommorrow.Sam ov the blue sand, Editor Review 04:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Hello

hey Gunslinger47. I just wanted to ask you why many articles are being erased and many others are being made completely useless. Like for example the dragonball z article is now essentially useless. In a few months, wikipedia is becoming more strict and less helpful. I just wanted to know why? Thanks for reading, I'll check up later.Bye for now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.226.63.30 (talk) 23:13, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

As I understand it, this is because, while the DBZ articles were very useful for researching Dragon Ball, this is not what Wikipedia is meant for. You'll probably be interested in Wikia:DragonBall, which is meant exactly for that. –Gunslinger47 01:06, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Got it. And that sentence about Famitsu wasn't added by me, someone else created that one. He tried to spin the "Reception" section more positively and I removed most of those but left the Famitsu section in there just...because. But yeah, I have no problem if you change that.

Hello Gunslinger. I realize i have been vandalizing Sonic 06 lately. I appologize, its just that the game (to me) should be given a little bit more gratitude. Very stupid of me.us I am really sorry.KENNYPWNAGE (talk) 05:40, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone makes mistakes and no one expects new users to understand every last rule and policy the moment they hit the site, so don't feel bad. –Gunslinger47 16:09, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I really don't want to get in trouble so i won't try doing anything to anymore articles. unless some info might be missing that i know.70.17.160.132 (talk) 04:08, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
