Doubtful notability[edit]

I don't believe that the reference to the song by Big Black, or the Oxbow album, really belong in this disambiguation page. If neither the song or the album, (or in Oxbow's case, the band) are considered sufficicently notable to have their own wikipedia pages, I don't think they should be in this disambiguation page.

If anyone wants to find out about the song "Tiny, King of the Jews" by Big Black, then they can sensibly look at the Big Black article. Likewise anyone who wants to read about Oxbow's album should look at an article on Oxbow. Unless someone objects I'll go through with the edit in the next couple of days. Okay, have gone through with the edit Blibbka 14:51, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I disagree with this. While it's true that someone who wants to read about Big Black's album should look at an article on Big Black, it's equally true that someone who wants to look at an article about, say, titles of Jesus, should go there. The point of disambiguation pages is that they direct people who've got lost, either because they typed a vague or ambiguous term and pressed "Go", or because they clicked on a link that was added by someone who gave the link a vague or ambiguous name.
So I've readded Big Black, and added some more links (though not Oxbow, who don't have a Wikipedia article). If Riders in the Sky (album) is notable enough to have its tracks listed on a Wikipedia article, it's notable enough to mention the track here. I've never heard of the album; it may not be notable at all: but that's for others, better informed than me, to decide; if they delete the article or its tracklistings, then it will be appropriate to remove the corresponding link from this disambiguation page.
I also removed the Category:Jews and Judaism-related controversies. I am unable to infer what such a controversy might be in this case from perusing the list of pages given here. This relates to the general principle that disambiguation pages shouldn't have categories. If there is a controversy about the phrase "King of the Jews", that needs an article to describe what the controversy is, and a link from this disambig page to that article page.

Christ the King[edit]

Is the locution Christ the King in any way comparable to that of King of the Jews ? Just wondering. ADM (talk) 23:59, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
