Hi My name is Steve. I am a teacher of senior chemistry, physics, mathematics and science. I also study philosophy, in particular metaphysics. I am a twice published author in areas far distant from the above.

I believe that Descartes was on the right path, as was Parmenides and Zeno. I think Hume was a nice and persuasive guy, but a bit clueless.

I am at present trying to finish a book, tentatively titled, 'The Armchair Universe.' This book argues from an endpoint rationalist stance (one step past Descartes) how our world comes to be at all, and comes to be as it is. Serious stuff. My motivation is that when one delves deeply into mathematics, physics and philosophy, one finds a straw man in each. All the problems in mathematics, physics and philosophy can be traced to this straw man. My solution is to begin from the very beginning, for one cannot begin in the middle, as the core disciplines tend to do.
