POV and stuff

I've tried to make it less POV ... but I think the article still doesn't scan well. Especially when the first and second sentences are read in conjunction. - User:67.72.26.151, Dec 15th 2004.

I did a fairly major rewrite, and I hope it's fairly NPOV. I suppose someone could argue that by including the mention of The Erotic Review (which doesn't seem to be a terribly notable publication) I might be pushing some kind of agenda. Well, the Jewish Quarterly mentions it, and did so in 2002 when mentioning it might have made her sounds "a bit spicey", but nothing more. I've read in several places that she was "a debutante", but not found her actual birth year or place (she's 44 now, so she was born around 1960) and I can't find her maiden name. -- John Fader 23:19, 15 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Okay, the BBC thing says "Solomon" was her maiden name. It says she studied politics at Vassar, whereas the Sunday Mirror says "History and English". Erring on the side of caution, I removed the words describing the subject. Visitors with knowledge of both the BBC and the Sunday Mirror may have an opinion as to which is the more reliable source (ahem) but it would be nice to have corroboration from another source. Kimberly Vs Kimberley

Both spellings of Mrs. Quinn's given name abound on the internet, although the former greatly predominates, particularly in the bio things referenced from the article. I've made redirects from the other spelling, as this is clearly a common misspelling. So common, infact, that it's committed by the Prime Minister's press office, Reuters, and the BBC (who get it both wrong and right on the same page). -- John Fader 01:36, 16 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Questions about new addition

Thanks Mowens35 for updating the article (things like this so often get forgotten once the players have left the media circus). I've got a few questions about the sentence: "Other sources have revealed that Mrs Quinn also had an affair with Scottish peer Lord Leitch and a breakfast radio broadcaster.", to wit:

• who the heck is Lord Leitch?
• unless he's admitted the affair, I think we should change "revealed" to "alleged" or "claimed"
• the wording is a touch ambiguous - is Lord Leich a breakfast radio presenter, or do said sources claim Kimberly had an affair with Lord Liech and an affair with a radio broadcaster?

Erotic Review is one of those journals like London Review of Books that no one actually reads but is fashionable with the chattering classes so is a good career move and should stay in.

John Humphrys outed himself as not having an affair with Quinn - according to Private Eye she took him to the opera but he didn't realise she was trying to picl him up - so the un named BBC Radio presenter might need to be ammended - though the other candidate could be Jim Naughty.

What a player this woman is! btw, I read the LRB. It's a much better read than the Spectator. And it's Jim Naughtie.

Should Blunkett's negative comments on the atmosphere of the Quinn household be included.

This should not be listed under the Catgrory "UK Labour".

Ms Quinn has little affiliation with the party and this is of no real use to people looking for information on the UK Labour party.
