Untitled[edit]

Rewrote:

The film is (according to Smith) the last of his films to feature Jay and Silent Bob and the only one where they are the main characters. As such, it is fairly indulgent and includes numerous references to Smith's earlier films (including the return of many old characters).

I question the bolded language: They have a large majority of screen time in Dogma. The "indulgent" tag is more a value judgment type thing. Ellsworth 23:33, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

I agree the indulgent bit should be removed. However this is the only one of his films where they're the "main" characters, even in Dogma they were playing supporting roles to Bethany. Spookyadler 10:15, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

trivia[edit]

WAY TOO MUCH!!!!

There is no such thing as too much trivia. Xinjinbei 23:06, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Alanis Morrisette[edit]

Am I missing something or is my mind just going blank. I've watched this movie a million times (1,000,000) and I'm sure that Alanis Morrisette isn't in it as God, isn't that Dogma you mean? JAStewart 14:43, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

she apears in the very end, closing the big "view askewnivers" book and then dances away, it might be after the credits, it was meant to imply the end of the jay and sielnt bob movies because of mewes's drug problems smith didnt want to continue, but since he has gotten clean since then he decided to continue with clerks 2 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.156.147.234 (talk) 03:42, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection Problem[edit]

Is there a reason why Good Will Hunting 2 redirects to this article? As far as I know there is no relation between the two. Wiebemarten (talk) 12:12, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This movie parodies a sequel in the making that Jay and Silent Bob crash onto, I believe. Erik (talk | contribs) 14:09, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How?[edit]

How can it be considered a minor commercial success, grossing $33.8 million worldwide from a $22 million budget, when movie theatres take at least 50% of the ticket price? It was commercial failure for all indicators. 46.35.226.168 (talk) 01:08, 20 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"minor commercial success" needs reference or deletion[edit]

With a budget of 22 million, anything less than 44 million box office *gross* is a commercial failure. BO gross means actual ticket sales. The studio gets *at best* half of this.

So, this is wrong on the face of it, and the only way to make this stand and not be misleading is with an actual reference to a studio (from Miramax, natch) statement that it turned a profit. --jae (talk) 03:00, 13 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

"The previous four entries" link formatting[edit]

The phrase "the previous four entries" in the main section of the article has each word link to a different article.

What is this, TVtropes?

I believe this needs fixing, but someone more familiar with Wikipedia than me should do it. CATLIT (talk) 11:43, 24 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
