Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.

I edited the new paragraphs about the proposed crime unit plan. The information placed on the page was seemingly done so in a negative manner and did not provide any clarifying information. The information provided made it sound like this was going to happen to the entire town, but in reality it was to be almost exclusively confined to the high crime areas of town, specifically the east side of town. I also removed a paragraph provided by the newspaper source that compared the plan to martial law and contained a questionable section using a quote with an implied addition following the quote. It could be proven if the quote was taken out of context, and was thus removed. This section will probably need its own section as more information becomes available.209.141.212.212 (talk) 02:24, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Note by RBB: Before adding the note on Paragould's name, I searched Wikipedia for "paragould"; the only entry returned was Paragould, Arkansas. This confirms other stories I had heard that no other city in the world was named Paragould.

Another noteworthy Paragould native is country-folk singer Iris DeMent, although she left there when she was a very young child.

I removed a statement that Paragould is noted for its high rate of methamphetamine usage. If true, this statement needs a reference supporting it. At any rate, it has no place in the section it was in (Notable Residents), so I'm assuming it's vandalism. If this is true, and supportable with references, please place it in an appropriate section.GuySperanza (talk) 05:30, 16 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

From the current article: "...the population of the city is 24,505. ranking it as the state's 150th millionth largest city." WTF? Someone with the motivation please fix it. Thanks. 162.40.177.118 (talk) 11:41, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Street crimes unit[edit]

The paragraphs starting with "On December 15, 2012, it was announced that...", should probably have their own new section under perhaps "Police Controversy"? With maybe a short reference to it in the summary. As it reads now, that's far too much detail on a specific event for the top of the article.

Sure, it's a current event and probably will be repealed. Even if so, it should stay but under its own section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Trep26 (talkcontribs) 05:45, 19 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It also appears to have some serious copyvio issues. It looks like it was copy and pasted directly from a news article. 69.73.47.181 (talk) 06:04, 20 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
A bit surprised no one has taken a couple minutes to just fix it by now. So, I've added it in the "crime" section and cut out most of the copy/paste. Coinmanj (talk) 03:06, 30 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Coinmanj. Looks much better now. --Trep26 (talk) 15:14, 10 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
