2000 election stats for usa[edit]

Crude electioneering ploy; I sincerely hope this difficult topic is better covered in its proper place. One of the things, for example, that makes these statistics so difficult is that a number of states, having determined that the absentee/military votes, no matter how they had been cast, would not make a difference to the outcome for the state, didn't waste the money to count them: standard practice, and fair enough, since what matters is the votes per state. There are indications, however, that the uncounted absentee/military votes voted somewhat more Republican than the rest of us: so that it remains unknown, in the aggregate across all states, who in fact did win the popular vote. — Bill 23:03, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. There is a standard way of setting out election results on WP and this isn't it. The figures also don't agree with the certified election results (see Congressional Quarterly's Guide to US elections, vol. 1, page 688, or [1]. Dbiv 23:23, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
  • Delete, as U.S. presidential election, 2000 (detail) makes this article superfluous, and it would be a fairly useless redirect. --Goobergunch 23:51, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)
