Redlinks[edit]

This page is full of redlinks, somebody should make articles out of them! --SuperDude 21:26, 24 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

WayneRay 20:15, 21 August 2005 (UTC)WayneRay removed red inks so when an actual article is written then the author can link them to the page.[reply]
I made several changes. I corrected the year for Word Up!, corrected some grammatical and typographical errors, and cleaned up the italic and quotation references. Infamous30 07:57, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Blackmon[edit]

A few years back, Blackmon appeared together with Mariah Carey in her Music Video, they were sitting in race cars (circa 2002).

Changes[edit]

I made some changes to include some facts and to clarify the timeline. I am not all that familiar to how Wikipedia works, so I need some help adding the names of band members. Elyrad 07:57, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This reads like a fanpage[edit]

Lines like "Of course, nothing could top the phenomenon of the Word Up!" are very much NOT encyclopedic 198.6.46.11 (talk) 16:18, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

can someone reference the use of the hit single Word Up in a short running Pepsi ad...pretty please?

In 1974, Cameo, who absolutely without a doubt were not a funk band, no matter what some wacko on City Data says.

where to begin.... Everingham.Curtis (talk) 13:32, 24 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite?[edit]

Cameo's "Reign" never ended nor will it end as long as sorry assed acts like lady caca and black guy's fleas continue to exist! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.18.67.39 (talk) 17:51, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Opening/History disagreement[edit]

Then opening paragraph has "Cameo was initially a 14-member group known as the New York City Players; this name was later changed to Cameo to avoid being confused with Ohio Players another funk group in the 1970s.[1]" and the History section states "In 1974, Cameo started out with 10 members created by Larry Blackmon and called the New York City Players.". So was it 14 or 10? I went to the link on the first one and it doesn't say either way. Discordanian (talk) 20:09, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Discordanian: I changed the second number to 14 per [[1]]. TimTempleton (talk) (cont) 05:22, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
