Meat[edit]

Tried to add some meat to this entry, hopefully I didn't get too POV. And try as I may, I can't find any info on his mom, "actress" Toni Smith or his wife, "screenwriter" Elizabeth Cohen, nor do I know if he has any children. --Feitclub 19:58, Sep 19, 2004 (UTC)

I read in a Time Magazine article on Giamatti that he has a four year old son. That was about a year ago, he would probably be around five now, but if you are looking for a lead that might be a good place to start. Good luck!

What?[edit]

"He is often confused with Rob Schneider."

He looks nothing like Rob Schneider. I saw the SNL sketch but I thought they were just being stupid. --Macarion 04:11, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a neutral article. The section on Giamatti's supposed Oscar "snub" is biased and thus breaks the rules of the site. Please remove it.

I agree that this article lacks a NPV. While I concur that he should have won an oscar for Sideways (and American Splendor) that's hardly something to put in an encylopedia entry. I also agree that the Rob Schneider reference is silly and shouldn't be in here. Unless someone wants to put in some authorities for these things I'll swing back by here and do some editing. I saw a movie named Shoot Em Up, Mr. Giamatti actoring was great, but I was greatly offended. He wore Masonic emblem on his jacket, in my opinion this was were crude and insulting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.206.127.11 (talk) 06:57, 12 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I just watched Ironclad. Mr. Giamatti should be nominated for his portrayal of King John. It was awesome. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.128.82.214 (talk) 03:05, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures[edit]

Why does this article have two very similar pictures on it? Surely one or the other would suffice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.21.144.252 (talk) 07:34, 28 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Name used in Robert Parker's novels[edit]

Is there any connection between the use of the name Paul Giamatti in the late Robert Parker's novels for a dancer/actor that Spenser befriends and supports (and who later outs himself as gay) and this performer? I've wondered if Parker knew the original actor, or had some particular reason for using the name, or if it's just coincidental. One would have to study the dates of publication and other stuff to see if that's even possible, but it might be worth pursuing.173.14.170.177 (talk) 18:37, 25 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.

The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.

Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 03:23, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Correction[edit]

In the list of performances by Paul Giamatti, the row for The Iceman Cometh (1999) has an incomplete name. The name should include (Jimmy Tomorrow), the better known name for the role. The Playbill shows the role as James Cameron (Jimmy Tomorrow). Rfkelly (talk) 15:55, 22 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
