By what information is this picture, named simply "eliza" is attached to this article? -Stevertigo 20:14, 10 Jul 2004 (UTC)

I know this is a really old question, but I might as well answer anyway. The "Eliza.jpg" image is a very famous (and only known extant image) of Eliza Poe. If I remember the story, it was a miniature on a locket that Eliza left to her son Edgar. Any number of Poe sources can substantiate that this is an image of her (Kenneth Silverman's biography, for example, includes it). Midnightdreary 04:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I actually found out some additional info on this image and I added it to its description page, FYI. -Midnightdreary 01:10, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Birthdate[edit]

I checked on some recent changes to Eliza's birth date. This article originally gave December 11 but a couple anonymous users (who don't like to use edit summaries) changed it to December 8. This is, in fact, correct! Good catch, whoever those anonymous users were, so thanks. But use edit summaries. ;) --Midnightdreary 14:39, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

parents's background[edit]

this info on her parents and grandparents comes from a considerably weak source - RootsWeb - but just if nothing else to intrigue - [1] Mayumashu (talk) 00:46, 11 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
