Page location[edit]

I merged this content into Master Chief Petty Officer. It was just too short, but fits in well with the other content. It is now a redirect. —Wguynes, 04:39, 27 March 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Help formatting requested[edit]

Can someone wise in the ways of page formatting please move the table with the insignia graphics so that it's below the MCPON's portrait and above the CNO flag? Thanks! —MikeyChalupa 19:57, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I used a table to align them in the way you requested. Maybe there is a better way, ask at the Help desk for further ideas. —Commander Keane 20:10, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

USS Sierra/Desert Storm/Eisenhower Battle Group?[edit]

Sir; I was on the USS Sierra AD-18 when war was declared (Desert Storm) with the Eisenhower battle group in the Mediterranean. My question is if my command was awarded a expeditionary medal because we were not allowed to go all the way with the battle group to strike area's I heard because of the age of the ship. We were their ready to go and I was wondering if we did not rate this, what is the criteria to rate this.
Thank you Sir for your time.
Respectfully IM1(SW) Ret. Garrett s. Mims

If I understand the above comment correctly, it is a retired sailor asking the MCPON about the validity of a medal his ship was either awarded or denied. As an encyclopedia entry about the MCPON, this Wikipedia page has no official connection to the office or officeholder of the MCPON rank and post. If someone does know the answer, or even better where to find an official answer it would be appropriate to answer on the questioner's talk page. —MJBurrage(TC) 12:13, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HALO Reference[edit]

The main character of HALO series, SPARTAN-117 appears to have been listed on the roll. I wouldn't call this vandalism, but it sure hurts the accuracy of the article. I took the liberty of removing it. After all, Spartan is only a MCPO, that's one rank below MCPON, and does not serve in the U.S. Navy as we know it. Actually we don't even know if this particular rank even exists in the HALO universe, so there.139.179.20.143 (talk) 16:25, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

On a second note, the entry seems to come on and off intermittently. In fact someone else removed it again as I wrote this. Interesting.139.179.20.143 (talk) 16:28, 6 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pay Grade Question[edit]

In the intro paragraph it is listed as E-10. In the Nav box on the bottom it is listed as E-9. The Sergeant Major of the Army has a longer discussion of the pay grade. I think it is E-9 but wanted to check here before I changed it.--Mitamarine 16:19, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Given the change made in the article by someone else. I am going to change the E-10 to E-9 in the opening paragraph.

Listing of the MCPON[edit]

In the Listing they are Listed as MCPON, then some of then have other letters inside parenthesis- These reflect warfare qualifications/ badges they earned earlier in their career. Some are not recognized by me - some are. - perhaps add explanations. Recognized one are the SS, SW, AW, FMF. These are Submarine Service, Surface Warfare, Air Warfare, Fleet Marine Force (a Hospital Corpsman). PJ means- Parachute Jumper. NAC,CAC - Unsure what it means to me.
