Move[edit]

I reverted the move to National Scout jamboree since it was done without discussion and contrary to a previous decision that the article title include Boy Scouts of America.--Erp (talk) 14:21, 23 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
The result of this discussion was to keep the two articles separate. damperpedal (talk) 22:51, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do not merge-As the first jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve, the 2013 NSJ holds special significance, and every jamboree I've read about has had its own article. They are significant enough to merit individual articles.

When are we allowed to delete the "should this article be merged?" tag? There's been no discussion.

Cordially, damperpedal (talk) 04:37, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

On Wikipedia, national jamborees of any nation are not individually notable for any reason, and are merged back into the parent article. World jamborees are notable and have their own articles. Thank you for reminding me I tagged this.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 12:16, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Can you point to where that policy is, I'm sure that references are pretty easy to find.Naraht (talk) 16:05, 2 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It was a discussion when Rlevse and Gadget were still here; I will try and find it.--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 06:11, 3 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Merging states: "If there is a consensus against the merger, or, for older proposals, if there is no consensus or no discussion and you don't believe it is appropriate to merge the pages, then please remove the merge proposal tags, and, if necessary, close any discussion." The merger tag is 5 months old; there has been little to no discussion and certainly no rough consensus. Hence, I am removing the merger proposal tag and closing the discussion. damperpedal (talk) 22:51, 18 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization of "jamboree"[edit]

Why does the page title not capitalize "jamboree", as in "National Scout Jamboree", since it is a proper noun?
