   Hello,

      I am a physisit at NRL and since the Clinton cuts I have had a lot of time on my hands.  Anyway I was wondering if anyone has come across an application for converting an alternator into an ac generator for moderate portable power.  The newer units can generate over 100 A so 1.2 KVA would not be out of the question.
 If you know where I can get more info on these devices let me know.  My 2 MV Tesla coil I made years ago is now out of my budget to get back on line again besides you can't do the same thing all of the time anyway.
