Bosnian Boniaks[edit]

Even in that small list Emina Jahović is intruder. She is Serbian girl (born and living in Serbia). I donn't know why is she in this list? She is Bosniak but from Serbia (it sounds stupid but that is fact after breakdown of Yugoslavia).

Bosnian Muslims vs Bosnian Bosniaks[edit]

Can we please not enforce personal preferences based on daily politics on 'people categorisation' here - Bosnian Bosniaks is a tautology, both from a political (I don't think Montenegrin Muslims would describe themselves as 'Bosniaks'), and from a morphological point of view. Bosnian Muslims is a term regularly used in the English language and should be left in the heading to encourage easy recognition of the ethnicity of the people in question. 203.26.177.2 02:07, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, according to the latest census, 8% of Montenegro's population identified as Bosniaks. Bosnian Muslims might be more common in english, but its simply archaic. It would be like calling african-americans negroes, or inuits eskimos. Live Forever 02:18, 26 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

List of Bosnians is not as correct as List of people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, unless the Herzegovinians placed here are put into their own list. At least for the time being, the name should be changed.

Why should every other country have "List of (country name here)ns" but Bosnia and Herzegovina have a list titled "People from Bosnia and Herzegovina"? Especially when there are many patriotic people who identify with the state? I think this page should be moved to "List of Bosnians and Herzegovinian", but I am strongly opposed to moving it to "People from Bosnia and Herzegovina". Well, the thing is... it seems to me that "List of Bosnians and Herzegovinians" just sounds funny. That's why on {{BiH-bio-stub}} we have "This Bosnia and Herzegovina-related biographical article is a stub." and not "This Bosnian and Herzegovininan biographical article is a stub." :-\ It's got nothing to do with identifying with the state, it just sounds... awkward. I don't strongly oppose "List of Bosnians" (ergo, I'm not too strong on favor of the move) ; I don't think Herzegovinians will object too much (#include <standard-derogatory-jokes-on-Herzegovinians.h> :-) ). "List of people from Bosnia and Herzegovina", although more accurate, sounds awkward. I'll still support the move, but I'll reprase it to "mildly". Duja 13:30, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This is why I left the tag at top of the page which says that the new name will be decided here by discussion. I do not object to "List of Bosnians and Herzegovinians" as it is reasonably close to what I originally proposed. I just don't like a one-size fits all approach that somehow says that Herzegovinians are Bosnians, and this name would address that just fine. --Thewanderer 21:29, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Irfan Horozović[edit]

I believe the name Irfan Horozović is missing from this list. If so, he should belong to a group "composiotion". I also suggest to change the group name from "composition" to "composers" it is much more clear and accurate. (compostion, n. The art or act of composing a musical or literary work; composer, n. People Deleted from the List[edit]

I don't see why should OMER PASHA LATAS be on the list of people from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was not from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but from Croatia and a military commander of the foreign army occupying territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I took a liberty and deleted him from the list.

Recent move to new title[edit]

As you may verify yourselves Bosnian and Herzegovinian is frequently used in the anglophone literature [1], as is Bosnians and Herzegovinians [2], albeit less commonly. It is also the official national denomination of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina; prior objections of it sounding "awkward" are not reflected governmentally nor scholarly.
