syndication section is incomplete[edit]

Throughout the 1970s and at least some of the 1980s The Bullwinkle Show (with the broadway spotlight and marquee signs & Bullwinkle dancing in top hat and tails) aired on one of the local UHS stations in the Philadelphia area in PA in the after school block. I don’t remember if it was channel 17, 29, or 48 for most of the run, but it might have moved once or twice between the three. By the time additional stations opened up (channel 57 was the most successful) and the lower powered stations (pbs outlets 23, 39(?) and I think 52) grew and had wider broadcast range the show was pulled and the cable TV syndication era began.

I would be flabbergasted if this only happened in Philly.

I was raised on this show. Puns are a central element of my job as a Cub Scout leader. (Borscht belt comics too)

I don’t have the details to cite in the article so I don’t want to add it without attribution. If anyone else can help with the specific details (stations and dates) I’d appreciate it Cubmaster (emeritus) Mike (talk) 12:44, 24 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
