Usage?[edit]

How widespread was this term? A quick Googling gave no other usages than the two you quote in the article, suggesting it was very limited geographically speaking. —Morven 19:33, May 2, 2005 (UTC)

It appears to be limited to the rural mill and mining town region of the western Mid-Atlantic region. Mostly western and central Pennsylvania, western New York, and West Virginia. I am unaware of its use outside this region. The term is also likely archaic since the use of these things died out in the 1940s. —Great Scott 20:44, May 5, 2005 (UTC)

Redundant Article[edit]

Recommend this article be merged into the Doodlebug article; https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doodlebug_%28rail_car%29?wprov=sfla1 as the distinction between a Hoodlebug and a Doodlebug appears to be regional dialect referring to the same type of railcar. Agreed. I'm going to be bold and just do it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Merging#Proposing_a_merger) - DavidWBrooks (talk) 14:39, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
