What's the link between Hagrid from Harry Potter and Groundskeeper Willie? They're both groundskeepers? Is this truly relevant or am I missing something? Bamos 00:50, 25 Mar 2004 (UTC)

Well, there's the groundskeeper connection, plus the occasional "confidant of the hero" feature. Kind of weak link. I have a question of my own, though: is Uter really 'dead'? Has he not been in any recent episodes? Hrm. Krupo 02:02, 8 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Followup: Uter is not dead. [1] Krupo 02:04, 8 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

We need to get pictures of the teachers and staff.- B-101 22:53, 22 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Tread carefully - ensure Fox isn't going to go nuts on Wiki over said pix. Krupo 23:41, Oct 22, 2004 (UTC)
    • It should be okay. We have pictures of other Simpsons characters and Fox hasn't come down on us.- B-101 23:24, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Edna Krabappel[edit]

The article gave two different pronunciations for this lady's name. I've deleted the first one. The second one claimed to be in SAMPA but clearly wasn't. In any case I've now converted it to IPA (Wikipedia recommended standard).

I don't understand why Üter needs to be Swiss in the German version of the show; if the show is explicitly set in America there's no reason to change the nationality. Of course, I understand that Germans could take offence at the stereotype but I've never heard of that drastic censorship happening in my country (snooty upper-class twats abound). --195.92.67.70 00:34, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Well, it's mostly for the point of him being a foreigner that Germans CAN'T relate to. --Jnelson09 17:32, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

W. Seymour Skinner[edit]

Added "W." to Seymour Skinners name in the section heading after just watching "Who Shot Mr. Burns Part 1" wherein it is actually revealed that his first initial is W. I don't think it was ever brought up again, and the commentary makes a point to say that they invented it as a clue for the episode, but it is there so I thought it should be.

  • Oh, right. I thought it was, like, something that people put on names of Principals and stuff. Obviously, I'm stupid. --APclark 19:49, 21 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Seymour Skinner[edit]

I move the section of Seymour Skinner, it was making the section and its now a separate article for Seymour Skinner. - 21:46 UTC

Connection between Ms. Hoover and Groundskeeper Willie[edit]

This article seems to be claiming that Miss Hoover is married to Groundskeeper Willie. Is this a joke or something? APclark Be nice not nasty 18:41, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who was the gym teacher who sent Lisa home because she was too sad to play dodgeball? Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! User:Sp3000 01:29, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

She was identified somewhere as "Miss Barr," and she was apparently an early version of Ms. Pommelhorst. --Jnelson09 17:31, 18 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unbridled Enthusiasm[edit]

"She is in particular weary of dealing with Lisa's unbridled enthusiasm (though initially she seemed proud of Lisa) and Ralph's mishaps and inanities."

But how does she feel about Billy Mumphrey? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 138.69.160.1 (talk) 21:40, 14 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Hippie Teacher[edit]

What about the teacher with the pony tail. He isn't seen often. But in the episode Separate Vocations he says to his class "Have I ever told you kids about the 60's?" Jacobtaylor1987 08:40, 16 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

West Springfield Elementary[edit]

Is there any thought on adding a section (or even just a sentence) about West Springfield Elementary? It has identical floorplan to regular, or rather, East Springfield Elementary, as revealed in Trilogy of ErrorDrhgm6 03:28, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Main article for Miss Hoover[edit]

I think it's necessary, she plays a major part in the show. 125.60.243.4 15:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree she is seen very often. And is quite funny. Does anyone else think it's time for her to be the focus of an episode? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.226.221.176 (talk) 23:51, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Largo[edit]

Since when was Mr Largo called Dewey?

the WoS toys give his name as dewey. Can someone explain to me how mr largo and herman are even remotely similar, save the voice? are these vague comparisons really necessary?

I removed the comparison as it was an original theory anyway. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 13:19, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ainsworth Elementary[edit]

The article previously suggested that the design of Springfield Elementary was based on that of Ainsworth Elementary School in Portland, Oregon, which Matt Groening attended. However, the resemblance between the schools in exterior design is minimal at best. See [2] and [3] and Image:Ainsworth.jpg. Note that the most distinctive architectural feature of Springfield Elementary -- that the center of the building is twice as tall as the wings -- is not present at Ainsworth. Also, Ainsworth is a red brick building, while Springfield Elementary is orange. There may be aspects of the two schools which do match, but the most visible and obvious aspects don't. --Metropolitan90 07:00, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Original research[edit]

Some of the descriptions of characters seem to be WP:OR. In particular ones which have sentences that start with "this is likely because" and "This is probably due to". the entry for Coach Krupt is good because it's to the point and doesn't add anything, conversely the entry for Audrey McConnell appears to be more original without any sources to back it up. I'm not going to remove it at this point because that would leave nothing left. ●BillPP (talk|contribs) 14:11, 18 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Teachers[edit]

I can't find any evidence of Mrs Holmes-Indigo or Mrs Cummerdale. Could someone enlighten me? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Manors (talkcontribs) 21:29, 4 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Springfield Elementary School Address[edit]

I think the correct address for Springfield Elementary is 19 Plympton Street based on what I saw in episode [3F17] "Bart On The Road" in season 7 on the envelope containing Principal Skinner airline tickets for his trip to Hong Kong. Also, snpp.com lists the address as 19 Plympton Street http://www.snpp.com/guides/city.profile.html Renzlip 22:30, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why?[edit]

Why were all of the minor teachers taken out? They do work at the school , there is just not that much to say about them. What harm is there to have them? They should be mentioned somehow. Rhino131 00:38, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Because I for one cannot find any trace of their existence. Perhaps you could put them back if you could find a good source backing up their existence and name. ::Manors:: talk to me 21:58, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Dr. J. Loren Pyor.jpg[edit]

Image:Dr. J. Loren Pyor.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use image removal[edit]

Disputes not withstanding, the indiscriminate use of fair use images in list articles such as this one is not supported. For the supporting policy, see WP:NFCC. For supporting guideline, see Wikipedia:NFC#Non-free_image_use_in_list_articles. See similar discussion at Talk:Supporting_Harry_Potter_characters#Overuse_of_fair_use_images and Talk:List_of_James_Bond_henchmen_in_Die_Another_Day#Fair_use_image_removal (and observe that fair use images remain removed or tightly limited on those two articles). --Hammersoft (talk) 17:53, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who is the Kindergarten teacher that appears in the episode in where Principal Skinner makes Bart to return to her class?. I remember a scene in which she asked the kids which is the figure, and Bart answered correctly, so he won the right to choose one toy, and he chose the Horn-o-phone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.226.133.180 (talk) 04:11, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Grammar[edit]

"Also once he said once,"I got to go, I think my son can't use the SKIM-MER!!! and Skinner responds yes sir? Chalmers says mishearing."

It seriously looks like a 4th-grader wrote this. Please have this changed so that it actually makes sense.

Image copyright problem with File:Bart Simpson.png[edit]

The image File:Bart Simpson.png is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
