Untitled[edit]

There is no evidence tying his absence from the 2007 playoffs and the Leafs/Islanders call. Also as far as 'Famous controversial calls' go, this one hardly has any notoriety outside of fans of one team. Special J 12:35, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No mention of one of the most famous non calls in sports history?[edit]

IIRC, the mentions of that and other controversial calls were previously put on this article, but were removed due to violations of the Wikipedia's biographies of living persons policy since there were not properly cited with reliable sources. Oh no, not this again. In the past, people have provided a plethora of sources, The Globe and Mail, The Star, YouTube videos, TSN.ca, Sportsnet.ca, books about the event, and everything else under the sun and some edit-warring article white knight guardian has removed it. Kerry Fraser even talks about it at great length in his recently-released autobiography, and apologized for missing the call. It is notable and it is extremely well-cited but I'm not going to the trouble of replacing it in the article because the argument that it must be removed because it's not properly sourced and then inviting people to add it again when they've found proper sources is a ridiculous circular argument. Instead of removing it, why not add the sources yourself? Because Wikipedia is about making sure articles that millions of gullible people accept as fact suit one's point of view... Because Wikipedia is also a volunteer web site, where some users may be too busy in real life, at the time, to add proper sources him- or herself. And where Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons is built around the principle, "zero information is preferred to misleading or false information". Cheers. The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Kerry Fraser/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

Doesn't contain enough references to his unfamous blunders. The 93' call has been admitted and sourced in several 21st century NHL books. Recent calls, well-- we will definitely find perspectives of it in 02/23/07's newspapers. There is a widespread agreement that Kerry Fraser has some sort of curious ability to make bad calls in games involving the Toronto Maple Leafs.
