Welcome[edit]

Welcome!

Hello, Knoma Tsujmai, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome!

And I'm personally happy to see a new skeptic arrive. Something tells me Wikipedia will need them in spades as POV warriors discover a more widely publicized Wikipedia. - RoyBoy 800 19:45, 6 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks.. glad to be here. Interesting and addictive world.

N0gar[edit]

Hello. I am not sure how to respond or if this is the right way of doing it. I am adjusting these articles to right the wrongs. I am from CT, my family is from NYC and Boston and New England has no presence in CT, at least on the New York side.

No offense, but it is people like you who assume too much about certain areas of the country. To be New England seems to mean that you see Boston as your hub. Boston is no hub of ours. They tried to come to New Haven with that Red Sox trophy thinking that CT was a part of their so-called "Red Sox Nation,' but I am sure that they see it differently now as Yankees fans came out to tell Boston to take it back to New England and don't come around here anymore!

Yes, CT is known as New England in some circles. This could be because the capital is close to the MA border and gets a lot of press. Even then, they speak of southwestern CT. Trenton, NJ is in the south, but you hardly hear of NJ being in the Philly area because of it do you? On the east coast, you can cross different states in minutes! The geopraphy is ragged. What's in Boston's interest is not in our interest. Come to CT and take a poll. Even many of those people in CT near RI and MA do not feel like New Englanders. Besides, New England is a slick name for Boston in improve there standing amongst citites in America and they NEED CT, we don't need or want them. (this was posted by N0gar)

Well, welcome to Wikipedia! The first rule is Edit Away. Be bold in editing that is, just don't be offended that other people edit your edits. There are only a few rules that exist in Wikipedia. The Welcome section above offers some decent links there. The one thing to keep in mind is that the goal of Wikipedia is to maintain a Neutral Point of View. Always leave room for and try to present both sides. The edits I made were to revert some content that (seemed to me) to account for only a single point of view. (Some bits about cable channels / media control). I'm far from the best person to report about Connecticut, I'm not from the area. I did raise some the question to the general community on the discussion page for the article on Connecticut, but don't expect to see me making any additional changes. Again. Welcome! I hope you enjoy the site and continue to contribute content. (And as far as responding, this is a perfectly fine place, or a response in your own talk page to my comments would have been just as fine). If you have any questions I can answer about getting started, just let me know. Knoma Tsujmai 17:36, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
