Where?[edit]

Disagreement on the web about the location:

Fortunately this Red Nose Day site clarifies and we can confidently say St John St.

"Provenance"[edit]

"Less is known of the Red Bull's provenance than of other contemporary venues ..." Huh? This is certainly a misuse of the word provenance ("the chronology of the ownership, custody or location of a historical object"); but I don't know what the intended sense was. Does it just mean the early history? GrindtXX (talk) 19:03, 7 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Legacy"[edit]

A list of productions from the Red Bull Theater, New York City, "for a contemporary New York audience" doesn't seem to comply with WP:TOPIC. Suggest deleting this, but it could be a standalone article, of course.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 11:06, 6 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No disagreement? — done.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 15:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Too soon! It's been restored, but without any comment here. May I reiterate? It's in pursuance of WP:TOPIC.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 15:53, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The first sentence of the section – the fact that the Red Bull Theater of New York exists, and takes its name from the London theatre – is very much on topic, and should be retained (with a reference to its website; if we had a reference that explicitly stated the connection, that would be even better). Similar "Legacy" sections exist all over Wikipedia. The list of productions, however, is too much detail and too peripheral to the topic of this article, and should be deleted. I assumed from your original comment that that was what you had in mind. GrindtXX (talk) 19:04, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry my post, above, isn't plain. To summarise: the theater itself is on topic but the list of productions isn't. Thanks for clarifying this. The suggestion that the NY establishment is named after the London inn-yard theatre doesn't seem to have any reference that I could find.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 20:45, 10 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The list of another theatre's productions is clearly WP:OFFTOPIC and I'm having another shot at deleting these. The link with the 17th century London playhouse of the same name is not established (it could just as easily be New York Red Bulls for all we know) so I've tagged it {{CN}} to see if anyone else can resolve this.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 08:25, 12 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

{{CN}} fixed—didn't look hard enough.--217.155.32.221 (talk) 20:57, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
