Founded in 2003, The Society for the Preservation of Waffle Irons is a Brooklyn, New York based association dedicated to the preservation and promoton of classic North American made waffle irons. Society Founder and President Ian L. Chalmers founded group after he was tired of buying new inferior quality waffle irons made in Red China every six months. The society's promotional material is anti-Wal-Mart, pro-free Tibet, and is critical of Red China's human rights abuses. Also featured are photos of a classic 1950s Sunbeam CG waffle iron.
