GOP "stronghold"?

re: this statement in this article: The city is increasingly a Republican stronghold in Texas. This really ought to be sourced (and preferably from a source other than the local GOP party's literature). Texas isn't quite as much of a "red state" as its reputation would have you believe (I say this as a lifelong Texas resident).

Citation[edit]

Citation is NOT required on wikilinked items, and common sense should tell casual user that Sweetwater schools serve Sweetwater. Citation is also not needed for non controversial items. Removed tags demanding citation. Jacksinterweb (talk) 02:51, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wind power rank[edit]

The section Sweetwater, Texas#Geography cites the claim:

Nolan County alone would currently rank as the seventh largest "nation" in terms of wind energy generation - with more than 1,500 MW installed.

However, according to the chart in Wind power#Utilization of wind power, the thirteenth largest wind power country in 2007 exceeded 1,500 MW of installed nameplate capacity. Also, the word "currently" in the sentence will date quickly. Because wind power is growing rapidly around the world, the actual rank of Nolan County, Texas against other nations may shift, and the exact rank at a given time may be difficult to determine due to variable lag time in accounting for the new wind farms coming online. --Teratornis (talk) 03:19, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Sweetwater, Texas[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Sweetwater, Texas's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 11:37, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
