OK, someone please try to give some logical rationale for why a substub on something not very well known gets to be listed at Bast, while a detailed article on the most commonly known use of the word is stuck at Bast (goddess). That other article should definitely be here and this thing can exist as a dicdef disambig line in italics at the top or bottom of that other article. DreamGuy 17:23, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC)

I'm guessing its because plant biology is more commonly described in an academic environment than Bast, who is only one deity of many, in a field of study (egyptology), which is no-where near as popular, or as useful to industry, as botany. ~~~~ 17:48, 12 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Wikipedia policy is that the most common use of the term gains precedence for the article title. In this case it is clearly the mythological figure. And I would disagree strongly that this term in biology is more often used in an academic environment that the goddess, having seen no proof of it anywhere and lots of contrary proof.
