Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kent Labour Students/old

  • Delete. Not notable.--Samuel J. Howard 21:34, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Couldn't agree more. Initially wanted to propose deletion myself but am in a different political party to Kent Labour Students so didn't. Essentially biographical entry, this group has never done nothing of substance. The Land 21:36, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would say delete, but if the Labour Party has a national student organization to which KLS belongs, that would deserve an article. Perhaps the author of this could enlighten me? Meelar 21:37, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • There is such a page, Labour Students. I would agree with deletion, though as a former Kent student who was active in one of the rivals to the KLS' predecessors I might be biased. Timrollpickering 21:41, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
    • It does, and the article Labour Students exists. Arguably some branches of UK student political organisations might be worth an entry (because of associations with former cabinet ministers, and the like). Not this one though. The Land 21:45, 3 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
      • A further check shows the first user's IPC has at least connections to Kent students and I suspect this page originated with KLS members - they trumpet it on their website. What's Wikipedia's policy on autobiography? ;-) Timrollpickering 08:57, 10 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]
  • Delete. Nonfamous, and besides only established in January. Warofdreams 14:57, 5 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep. Contrast the above comments to those at Template:VfD-Grange Industrial Estate and Template:VfD-Woolston Park. If it's OK to have articles for obscure corners of English towns, why not for obscure corners of English politics? I don't see the harm in any of them. We're not short of space, are we? • As the author of the site, it was put up to allow for a definition of our activities and objectives to stand in a place where they were accessable to all. I took the contents off before it was deleted, and I will converse with my Executive before making any further decision. But, to defend ourselves, I will say that KLS may be a small organisation - but from small organisations do big ones grow. Timrollpickering: you know full well that Labour Students does not always accurately reflect the views of Labour Socs across the country. KLS wanted to be known to have its own views, away from Labour Students nationally. Sorry to have caused any problems. :) RedSam 12th May
