Fecal bacteriotherapy[edit]

I did make some changes to your fecal bacteriotherapy article. Would appreciate your comments in the end. I'm a gastroenterologist and I may have leaned too much on the traditional medicine side with respect to POV. Please amend as you see fit. Cheers. Samir धर्म 07:21, 13 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

the 194.106.187.* guy[edit]

Hi there, I see you have been reverting this guy on some articles. Maybe you could add List of rulers of Croatia to your watchlist, this guy removes mention of Croatia from this article and I don't want to break 3rr rule, so I could need a hand there... --Dijxtra 01:48, 5 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Croatian WikiProject[edit]

Hi, I just started WikiProject Croatia, and I'm looking for some people to join up. Anyways, give it a look and try joining if it's something that you think could work well. --Thewanderer 18:50, 26 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! I couldn't think of Chetnik!...-- Mkamensek (talk) -The LeftOverChef 03:28, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know why I couldn't remember the word Chetnik...That said I'm really hoping to be able to contribute something. It was a tough time for me - being an American Slovene and a teenager, I just couldn't get my head around the whole conflict. And watching friends going through it - trying to get family out of Sarajevo, or taking sides - was painful. Anyhow...I'll try to do better remembering my history next time! -- Mkamensek (talk) -The LeftOverChef 03:39, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that you were, and still are very far from it all? And you're better off for it, believe me. Unfortunatelly, those of us who remain have to make sure that history gets this one right. There is obviously a large number of Serbs who want to mythologize the latest conflict, and present it as something it's not. I can certainly understand their bitterness and dissapointment over the whole thing, but allowing propaganda and disinformation to breed on Wikipedia makes it impossible for those who would benefit most from hearing the honest neutral point of view to do so. In view of that, I thank you very much for your contributions, and I hope to see you out there in the future ;) --Dr.Gonzo 04:00, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I have been very far from it - although I still have family there (my parents are 50/50 residents). I am hoping to take my children and wife to visit soon (it's been 18 years since I last visited). Perhaps I'll be able to take them through other parts too. In any event, it has been a pleasure. I'm hoping I'll be able to chime in occassionally as needed... -- Mkamensek (talk) -The LeftOverChef 04:13, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just a short note to let you know that User:WikiMB is, in all likelyhood, another account that has been opened by User:Bormalagurski. Given the number of his edits and the approach he is using he is probably aiming at eventually getting adminship at Wikipedia which User:Bormalagurski failed to secure on a couple of attempts for all the known reasons. Needless to say, this would have interesting consequences on our efforts to maintain articles related to Croatia. I had suspected this for some time, but I didn't have any proof until yesterday (April 2) when User:Bormalagurski made a mistake of deleting a Luka Jačov's comment left on User:WikiMB's discussion under Re:Template. Luka Jačov appeared 5 minutes after this deletion and left a slightly modified comment. Pretty interesting tempering with another user's page on the part of User:Bormalagurski. Of course, User:WikiMB re-appeared 5 minutes later as if nothing had happened to add another PR remark. For more info check WB's history page]. EurowikiJ 12:18, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DrGonzo. I have just seen your note and would like to thank you for your offer. I really appreciate it. Let's just hope we'll find what is going on here. Thanks again for all your hard and invaluable work. EurowikiJ 18:23, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This is a follow-up on the note that I have left above. The administrator on the check-user page has decided not to conduct a check on the User:Bormalagurski and User:WikiMB. Though my claim was based on a chain of strange edits that took place on WikiMB's discussion page on April 2 and certainly not on any editing pattern, the administrator concluded that "Just from looking at the contributions I find it unlikely that these two are sockpuppets of one another; they appear to me to be distinct editors.". Hence, the request was denied and the accounts in question were not checked. For User:Bormalagurski and User:WikiMB's reaction(s) and arguments, please see the entry at Request for Check User page, WikiMB's and my talk pages. EurowikiJ 09:08, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings! I noticed that you reverted claiming that it is contradictory information. As per your request in one week's time I will add to the article's discussion around six maps showing detailed situation of the region.

I would also ask you to note what persicely is contradictory? Everyone knows that Serbia wasn't interested in maritime possessions, with the exception of Mljet, which was its naval base for centuries unlike the other islands that constantly managed to slip away: Hvar, Brac, Korcula, Lastovo, Vis and others... --HolyRomanEmperor 13:06, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, it's a little messy. But please see the Templars or the Hospitaliers. Mljet was only a fief. Remember the Frangepan and Zrinni lands? How could've the Croatian lands be ruled by them and the Hungarian Kings at the same time? It's because they were fiefs (see the article, please). The 1357 year was clearly my error, sorry for that, I will correct it.
I am providing sources & explainations for you at the discussion page right now. Please refer to there in a few minutes. Bog, prijatelju! --HolyRomanEmperor 15:24, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I'm not sure that an Orthodox Monarch is willing to allow the Pope to rule a part of his demesne. :) And remember that three quarters of the Kingdom of Hungary at the time of the arrival of the Ottomans were Church lands. Was the Hungarian King just a puppet of the Pope? The Pope indeed did try to rule all Church domains with his will, even crown Catholic Monarchs, but he simply isn't allmighty, a Church Land is just a few square kilometres of land for the Monks to till that again have to answer the King first, rather than the Pope. It's just a tiny parch of land on the island. Bog, prijatelju! --HolyRomanEmperor 15:59, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Full support[edit]

I would like to report him, but people don't really trust me that much (just today I was accused of having a sockpuppet, and the request for CheckUser was quickly denied - proving that some people, like EurowikiJ are just out to get me). If you report Module, you will have my full support, and I think he should be blocked. You can report him here and once you do, I will comment with my words of support. -- serbiana 01:20, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Confirmed: WikiMB a sock of Bormalagurski[edit]

Hey there,

After Kelly Martin declined the request for CheckUser, I was able to gather more evidence which I submitted on on her talk page. She reopened the request and indeed confirmed that the two users are most likely the same editor [1].

I have opened a thread on the Admins Noticeboard to hear the input of Admins on the issue. Of course, your input is also greatly appreciated!

I hope you dont feel too bad about having defended serbiana. I assume you wouldnt vouch for as much as you have done before, but still your perspective that we should all work together regardless of each others past, is certainly the right one. However, Sockpuppetry is certainly frowned upon (understandably) so I wonder whether that will be enough.

Hope to talk to you soon, The Minister of War (Peace) 21:16, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Medule report[edit]

DrGonzo, I will support your request tomorrow morning. I have a raging head-ache (you can imagine why). Thank you for all your hard work. PS. In my old checkuser request Medule has been proven to use sock-puppets Clavell and another one. EurowikiJ 22:33, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply[edit]

Yea, don't worry about it, I'll just stay away from EurowikiJ, and that way there won't be any conflicts... Oh... And from what some are saying, (sarcasm "on") I am writing less controversial articles, through my "sockpuppet" WikiMB, about Croatian villages... (sarcasm "off"). I just can't believe they accused me of having a sockpuppet, this is just horrible. I feel so violated. Believe me, Gonzo, honest to God, WikiMB is not my sockpuppet, I wish you could come and I could introduce you to him. But I can't... Oh, and what I considered as a favour, might destroy me, I let WikiMB upload my photos, even showed him how to create a sub-page, and now I regret doing that. I wanted to help him out and now I guess I just screwed us both... Plus, Luka Jacov screwed up by just assuming that WikiMB is my sockpuppet, and left a message how he thinks WikiMB is me. Now that message is one of the main "evidences". This is pointless, I'm just loosing too much of my time dealing with this, and I'm afraid WikiMB will just stop editing, because I promised him that this would be a fun experience, and now it's turning into a nightmare. No requests from you, just needed to explain this to someone, who might have any chance of actually believing the truth. Cheers, -- serbiana 23:41, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there,

I wanted to inform you I have filed a Request for Arbitration against serbiana here. Considering your relationship with him, I thought you might want to keep an eye out.

Borovo Selo[edit]

Hi Dr Gonzo. Just a short note to thank you for your vote of confidence on the discussion page. Yesterday I spent several hours later in the evening studying the relevant ICTY indictments as well as reading through the hearings recorded on the link which was supposed to prove the opposing point. Needless to say, it was tiresome. That is why it is good to hear someone's kind words on the matter. Thanks once again. EurowikiJ 09:47, 18 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just to note you since you have been edit warring (sorry if this was too harsh :) with this dude:

Please see the contributions of User:Medule. I have managed to protect the Tourism in Croatia, but he's doing the same thing with Dalmatia, History of Croatia, Borovo Selo raid and several others. I have reported him, but caution is needed. All the best, my friend! --HolyRomanEmperor 19:27, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Answered on User talk:HolyRomanEmperor --Dr.Gonzo 21:30, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The best thing you can do is to report 3RR and keep an eye open and pray for the obvious sockpuppet mistake. I had the same problem in the Kosovo page with two/three other users. I tried to get a CheckUser procedure open but this was denied (the usual score). You could try requesting semi-protection for the articles, which should stop unsigned edits and throwaway accounts (sockpuppets). Hopefully you will find an admin who would listen. Regarding the Borovo Selo article, read my comments on Eurowiki's page. Regards, --Asterion talk to me 21:38, 24 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are not involved into an article editing - stay away from reverting it[edit]

The problem with en:Starcevic is that Mir Harven deleted completely contributions of others, replacing the removed text by his incompetent, whitewashed and politically correct scribling. Teach him good manners first. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 4.249.93.224 (talkcontribs) 03:34, 25 April 2006

You have no "claim" on who edits and who doesn't! Wikipedia is a FREE encyclopedia. Sometimes that means rewriting the whole article from scratch. I happened to think Mir Harvens version was much less inflammatory and far more NPOV (although not completely) than that propaganda piece you were trying to push. --Dr.Gonzo 12:56, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My comments on the Starcevic's talkpage[edit]

Please relax. I requested full protection. Hopefully things will cool down. Thanks, --Asterion talk to me 14:41, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Answered on User talk:Asterion under "Ante Starcevic article protection" topic. --Dr.Gonzo 14:56, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know, I know. I perfectly understand you. This is why I requested the semi-protection at first. At least this way, people must own to their actions. My point is that it would be silly to get yourself blocked for losing the nerves. I have been there myself and I know the feeling. Regards, --Asterion talk to me 14:59, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dr.Gonzo, I know it can be very frustrating. I have been enduring the same problem with two "persistent" (ab)users, being subjected to wikistalking too. My point is:
  1. User:Purger is obviously frustrated somehow with the semiprotection.
  2. But he has not vandalised. He is certainly engaged on the edit war. So there is no need to start name-calling.
  3. He tried to explain his POV in the talk page, as opposed to the anonymous vandals, which seems to share his POV. From the lot of edit-warriors (Medule, Mostssa, etc), he seems to be the only one willing to engage on a discussion. I am giving him the benefit of doubt (for the time being).

Thanks again, --Asterion talk to me 15:37, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-05-02 Chuck Berry[edit]

Aloha. I have chosen to mediate Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2006-05-02 Chuck Berry. I notice you have recently left on a wikibreak. Please contact me or visit the previous link when you return. —Viriditas | Talk 05:10, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, and thanks for getting back to me so quick! As mediator, I don't really get to decide anything; I'm just a volunteer who is attempting to help resolve a dispute before official intervention is required. I'll review your talk page comments and add them to the mediation page per your statement on my talk page. I understand you are taking a wikibreak, but when you have time, could you comment on my representation of your view? I'll leave you a note here if that's ok. I certainly don't want to cause you to feel stressed in any way, so it might be best if we just take this slow. When you are ready, I would like if you would reconsider participating on the mediation page in some capacity, limited or otherwise. We could even conduct this by private email if you like. You can always reach me with the "E-mail this user" link. Thanks again, and enjoy your wikiholiday! —Viriditas | Talk 01:42, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In all probability, Medule is someone's throwaway sockpuppet, and I don't expect he'll be back to comment on this. As for others, I don't know, maybe they see it as a lost cause? Yeah, well, now you see what I had to deal with before, and actually on a vast number of Croatia related articles. Literaly dozens of throwaway sockpuppets, swarming like there's no tommorow? What can we do? Nothing it seems. It's one of the reasons why I'm starting to lose my faith in Wikipedia unfortunately :( --Dr.Gonzo 23:11, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry. I know the feeling. I am giving the ICTY ref another try.E Asterion u talking to me? 23:13, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You're welcome to try but I expect nothing but petty bickering from this one. BTW, I did find ChrisO version at least a little to clinical, downplaying the huge Serbian role in the breakup, but I chose to shut up and support that version. But there's just no pleasing some people, is there? --Dr.Gonzo 23:18, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The article reads quite neutral but it is at the expense of removing bits which could be found controversial. I think ChrisO's good at sanitising texts in that sense. If I manage to stabilise this article as for the Plitvice Lakes (i.e. by creating the Plitvice Lakes (municipality)), I will be a happy man. Slovenia in Greater Croatia[edit]

Good point, Alpine Croats, seems to make more sense. Sadly Dr.Gonzo, most of the information I produce comes from books and even then it becomes difficult to find a reference. The only places I have read about Starchevich wishing to unite all Croat regions including Slovenia comes from the travel guides, published in the UK too. These are normally written by the novice from the local country BUT they do some kind of research. The latest Lonely Planet edition for Croatia mentions this suggestion, as does another one which I read only last week; I will let you know as soon as possible. I only hope that where you are, you can access these English language books. You won't need to buy one, just open the first few pages there in the shop. Celtmist 26 May 06
