Von Kármán vortex street animation

A Von Kármán vortex street is a repeating pattern of vortices commonly produced as air, or a fluid, flows past a fixed obstacle. The effect is named after the aerodynamicist Theodore von Kármán, who accidentally discovered it in 1911 during pioneering wind tunnel investigations to determine the best shape for spars in a biplane's wing.
