Pronunciation[edit]

What is the difference in pronunciation between "ileum" and "ilium"? This should go in the first paragraph. --LostLeviathan 16:32, 11 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gastrin, secretin, and cholecystokinin are hormones, not enzymes.[edit]

It looks like someone tried to stick a fact about gut hormones into the middle of a passage about gut enzymes. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Ileum&action=historysubmit&diff=159959671&oldid=146437721 Both enzymes and hormones are secreted by cells of the ileum, but I think not the same cells. I hope I'll get back here after I find enough information to re-write the passage with confidence of being correct. Caecum is common in the Queen's Medical English (British) while, Cecum is common in American Medicine. The Greek letter (?) æ is frequently transposed as "ae" in the Eastern Hemisphere and "e" in the Western. Possible vandalization[edit]

Could someone please verify that the term "hahah" is not anatomically relevant in the caption for the Gray's Anatomy illustration accompanying the main article? Thanks for the advice :). Seems very helpful. I'm merging the article this week, maybe when 7 days pass. No need to keep such trivial articles in my opinion.
