On July 13th, I removed the holidays that are celebrated locally, since there are several of them all over the country, and listing only some of them makes the list incomplete. As an example, every city in Brazil has a local holiday in its founding date. Now the list contains only holidays celebrated at a national level.

I (seriema 08:04, 3 September 2006 (UTC)) removed the following text (in portuguse) from an article about "Trancoso, Bahia", the text describes the Festival of São Sebastião - listed on this article as a local festvial in Rio de Janeiro. I'm listing it here if someone wants to add it somewhere:[reply]

No dia 20 de janeiro é celebrada a festa de São Sebastião. Nesta ocasião os nativos se unem aos visitantes para cantar com muita alegria e garra, ao som de pandeiros, violões, cavaquinho, reco-reco
versos muito bem humorados e romanticos sempre saudando São Sebastião. A sequir estão todos versos cantados nesta festa e que se repete na festa de São Bras.(Not translation for lyrics)

Tiradentes[edit]

Why is Tiradentes listed in English name, and nothing in our local Brazilian name, it is a local name and not English, so why? You can click on Tiradentes if you want to find out more, and you can see it is not an English name, so i propose to move it from one column and more to the right, under local names Pernambuco 16:52, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

Proclamation of the Republic Day[edit]

Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes[edit]

This is translated to English as "Our Lady of Regla" (Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes), it is the holiday from Salvador and Porto Alegre, but my questions is, I dont think "Regla" is an English word, is it? Pernambuco 05:10, 9 February 2007 (UTC)
