Wikipedia:Association of Members' Advocates/Can the AMA help me?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Introduction[edit]

If you are involved in a dispute with another member or members here on Wikipedia and are considering the Wikipedia:Dispute resolution process and are having problems with understanding the process, understanding how it applies to you, or understanding how you can present your case to the mediators or arbitrators the AMA (Association of Members' Advocates) is here to try and help.

Contacting the Association[edit]

You can either contact a member of the association on their talk page or send them an email from their talk page. By becoming a member of AMA they have announced their willingness to help other members in the dispute resolution process. You may also address the association directly on its talk page here.

How we can help?[edit]

If you want information, or have a question, or want to discuss your case with someone who is not directly involved, they our members can easily assist you and it can do privately off Wikipedia through private email, chat or even by telephone if the member agrees to allow you to contact them in a particular mode.

If you find yourself unable to present your case here on Wikipedia you can ask the assistance of a member or even a group of AMA members with a request to represent you in a more formal manner. In that case you must agree to allow the AMA Advocate to represent you and to make all representations for you through them. At any point you can change your mind and decide to represent yourself. In the case there are differences between you and your AMA Advocate then you can request that another AMA member help you. Please keep in mind that these are volunteers who have decided to help and they are doing this job voluntarily. The AMA cannot force anyone to represent you or to continue to represent you if they feel that the advocacy relationship between the disputant(s) and the Advocate have broken down.
