Moving pages[edit]

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions!

However, please stop moving pages this way - the new name of the page might be good, but you are doing it the wrong way - and admins will have to fix it... Look at Help:Renaming (moving) a page - you need to use the move option in the tab - and not cut and paste - cut and pastes don't take the edit history wih them and thus violate the GDFL copyright terms. If a move is not possible because a page with the new name already exist go to Wikipedia:Requested moves. Thanks! --JoanneB 08:56, 6 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

ciao there,

I see you are proposing to move the english Trentino-South Tyrol to the Italian name Trentino-Alto Adige, even though this is an english-language wikipedia. May I know why in this case you are not proposing to move Tuscany, Sicily, Sardinia, Aosta Valley, etc. to the Italian names as well? with kind regards...Gryffindor 11:40, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

You italian have to take care to other people who are not italian. YOU ARE NOT ALLONE IN THE WORLD. You can say to Alto Adige also Province of Bozen or South Tyrol and so the name Trentino-South Tyrol is correct. Tis is not the iralian you ar heere in the english wikipedia. I german i would say "Laß bitte die Kirche im Dorf." --Highdelbeere 16:01, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Ilario. Thanks for your reply. I am not going to get into a political discussion with you about "Euskadi" and what the debate is in Italy etc... I am not from South Tyrol, but what I do know, is that both the German and the Italian language are official. You so far are proposing to change the name into Italian, because you say it is official. That in itself is only a half-truth, you never mention (even though I suspect you know), that German is also official. Of course Trentino-Alto Adige is also an official name, I'm not denying it. But you still have not answered my question why are you not proposing to change Tuscany, Aosta Valley, Lombardy into Italian as well? I suspect, but would not want to accuse you, that your proposal is not objective and a POV. The best thing to do is to stay neutral and keep it in English. If you want Alto Adige, you can do that on the Italian website and Adige all you want, I don't care. And the German speakers can have their Südtirol and Bozen at the German Website. This however is the English-language website, so your point is more than confusing and to me it does not make sense. I am very irritated that many Italian users are voting to change it, even though this is an English-language website. Wikipedia rules state, that if there is an English translation, then use that one. If there is no translation, then you can use the original name.
I am glad to hear though that you are fine with using the double-names for Eisack-Isarco. I did not make up this format, but I can understand that both languages need to be reflected. However your proposal to box through Trentino-South Tyrol into the Italian version to me is very unfortunate I think alot of feelings have been hurt and damage done as you can obviously read by the comments left by the user above. I hope you can understand my viewpoint. Gryffindor 23:28, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your support on my RfA. I was both surprised and delighted about the amount of support votes and all the kind words! Fair Enough[edit]

You made the additions and proved the guy had some real significance. What bugged me is that most of those guys didnt even have information on where they finished. It was pretty much like saying two teams played a game but no one knows who won. A sport without a score loses its significance. Now that you changed it, Ive removed the AfD tag from that article. Also, how about a first name? Or a surname?--Pal5017 11:57, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao[edit]

Ho visto il tuo messaggio. Grazie. Non so cosa dirti. Raramente qui mi collego come LoneRanger quindi e come vedi ti rispondo in ritardo. In ogni modo ti ringrazio per esserti interessato a me. Regards The Lone RangerSend an S.O.S to the world 17:18, 7 April 2006 (UTC) Addendum, scusa avevo letto solo parte del messaggio, credevo fosse ancora su diktat bulgaro. Ciao The Lone RangerSend an S.O.S to the world 17:25, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Io non so cosa succeda su it.wiki ma vi comportate in modo assai strano. Sinceramente, non me ne interessa piu'.
Poi offendi quindo mi scrivi "nessuno mi crederebbe". The Lone RangerSend an S.O.S to the world 22:46, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Amen.

So chi e' Snow.

Ciao,--Jxy 13:05, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Avevo aggiunto il semplice dato storico under Josip Broz Tito's command ma l'ha rimosso dichiarando in discussione Tito was not the leader of Yugoslavia during this time, Ivan Ribar was until 1953 the leader of the communist part of Yugoslavia: una cazzata così enorme mai l'ho letta!. I was born in Yugoslavia, during Tito's rule. Tito was one of Lenin’s evil offsprings, together with Josef Stalin, Mao Tse-tung, Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot, Nicolae Ceausescu, and Fidel Castro. He was leader of Yugoslav Communist Party for over 40 years, until he died in 1980. He was dictator of Yugoslavia for almost 35 years. At his funeral, his coffin was buried with intonation of communist anthem (The Internationale).

blocco[edit]

Tu essendo registrato puoi modificarli: mi riferisco a foibe massacres, Istrian exodus, Tito, History of Dalmatia, Zadar e altri. Cordiali saluti, LEO 19 luglio

Direktor and his many forums[edit]

Hi. This message is to inform you that the forumer Direktor is a well know propagandist of tito-style propaganda on the internet. He has been banned from other forums because of his harrassment against italians in Istria and Dalmatia. He has used other nicknames and WRITES ALWAYS IN A SYNCHRONIZED GROUP WITH OTHERS, who support him. He always writes to be of distant italian roots in order to obtain support for his harrassments (he often identifies Italians in Dalmatia with fascists), and writes even to be a "not nationalist" while he promotes fanatically the tito yugoslavia with many lies and deceits. An Italian forumer born in Istria.

Ragusino[edit]

It appears that Ragusino was involved in multiple edit wars in early November 2008. While under a 31-hour block for edit warring on November 6, Ragusino evaded his block by editing anonymously. The block was extended to one week, and then re-extended to one month when Ragusino was found to be socking yet again. More than three weeks later, Jayron32 blocked the account, this time indefinitely, for block evasion. Since then, Ragusino has repeatedly engaged in sockpuppetry, which I have confirmed via CheckUser. For example, I noted at the SPI investigation page that Cristian.Bilicic is  Confirmed as a sockpuppet of Ragusino. I have also placed multiple rangeblocks to prevent Ragusino from engaging in abusive sockpuppetry. From what I can see, the block on Ragusino is clear cut. He violated policy by edit warring and subsequently evading his block. The accuracy of one's edits means absolutely nothing if they knowingly abuse Wikipedia's policy. The Futurist Manifesto

Dear Wikipedians, the Futurist Manifesto as found here: http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Futurist_Manifesto has problems, it featured copyrighted versions of the manifesto and currently no translation is provided. As a document of art in early 20th century that is now over 100 years old it's crazy to me that there is no version on wikipedia to be found. There are versions that exist online but this should be available on wikipedia.

Translations vary - Point 11 of the manifesto reads: “we will sing of...greedy railway stations that devour smoke-plumed serpents; factories hung on clouds by the crooked lines of their smoke; bridges that stride the rivers like giant gymnasts, flashing in the sun with a glitter of knives...deep-chested locomotives whose wheels paw the tracks like the hooves of enormous steel horses bridled by tubing...”

Another translation provides for a touch more flair: “We will sing of ...the gluttonous railway stations devouring smoking serpents; factories suspended from the clouds by the thread of their smoke; bridges with the leap of gymnasts flung across the diabolic cutlery of sunny rivers...great-breasted locomotives, puffing on the rails like enormous steel horses with long tubes for bridle”

Yes, there some dark elements to the original work but as a notable document it should be available, a good respectful translation will be widely used and referenced. Please, and if I have written too much here I apologize. Thank you, please feel free to inquire should I be able to help in any way, Haddon

Judging by the French version (the Italian on Italian Wikipedia appears to be derived from the French), your second version is more accurate. However, I believe you want Wikipedia:Translation, since the foreign-language text is not on en.wikipedia. Or they suggest there the "expand from other language" template; but since our article on the topic is pretty good, I think requesting on the talk page there would be more appropriate. Yngvadottir (talk) 03:57, 22 January 2013 (UTC)

I am very new to this realm of wikipedia I did send links to this page to 2 Italian-english translators if we could leave this posting here for a time that would be very good. And I will add it to the talk page as per your recommendation but this situation has been as such 4 years, thank you. --Dhaddonpearson (talk) 04:09, 22 January 2013 (UTC)Dhaddonpearson

Lugano-related question[edit]

Hello, Ilario. Can you maybe identify the street on the picture (or the exact place, that I would be able to add coordinates)? Or maybe you know someone who is very familiar and may identify. Thank you! --A.Savin (talk) 15:27, 3 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

translation request[edit]

Hello Ilario,

I am new to Wikipedia and was wondering if an italian article about the Academia Stauffer could be translated for the english wikipedia page? As wikipedia pointed out that you're one of the official translators? The Cremona based Academia has been getting quite a lot of attention in all of Europe recently and is a great example what can be done in the culture sector if people are willing to fund it. Maybe that is something you could help with? Best Mabel White91 (talk) 14:23, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
