Proteus[edit]

I just wanted to know, what's your reasoning for deleting the significant stories sub-section, on Proteus' page. - -- LEC20 18:09, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Image sourcing[edit]

Incidentally, images like Image:Capbritaintb1.JPG do have a known source, namely the publisher. It doesn't matter whether the scan was made personally or collected from a website, the real source is always the publisher (whose name is conveniently supplied right on the image even). Colossal Boy question[edit]

I see you've split out the merged articles surrounding the Colossal Boy article. Wondering why you did that. I had merged them based on the discussion on the subject on Talk:Colossal Boy but I don't see your change reason. I'm not married to any particular setup, but had assumed there was a mandate to merge based on 3 of 4 being for it. Markeer 18:34, 15 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

To respond to your points on my talk page:
  1. Merging related articles does not break the GDFL, as all edits on both fell under that licence. There is no GDFL issue relating to this merge.
  2. The comics naming conventions are to have a parent page that follows the NCC, the merge was to make Gim Allon the parent page for the several superhero names that have been used by the character of Gim Allon. For example: Kyle Rayner, a character who has used more than one superhero name (in that case, Green Lantern and Ion).
  3. The '3 out of 4' was based on the 'merge-keep-diff' guy adding a comment under the Gim Allon merge suggestion, changing his vote (and of course my own vote). As you obviously disagree with the merge for some reason, I realize that now the vote would be 3 of 5, a majority but not consensus.
  4. Actually merging would probably more correctly follow NPOV guidelines as there would be no partisanship toward any one incarnation of this often-retconned character. As it exists now, a version of the character that only existed for about 3-4 years is given equal weight to the 30+ years used version, which is of questionable neutrality.
  5. oh, yes, I'm not criticizing your right to want the articles to look good, nor am I 'complaining' about your changing the merge I did. I'm simply disagreeing. Over the 30+ year life of the character, "Leviathan" was only the used name for about 4 years, and with the split of two articles I noted that kind of no one was touching either one. WikiProject Comics has had the Colossal Boy article listed as needing a large update or revise for literally months, and my goal was to bring all existing information about the character to one place to prompt editors to continue work on this long-overdue task, as well as following the standards of other characters with several superhero names (e.g. Eric Masterson (comics), Guy Gardner (comics), et al). At any rate, they're split again, so I'll return the merge suggestion vote for more input and leave them separate for the time being. Markeer 23:28, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Amazing X-Men (two series)[edit]

There was a second Amazing X-Men title, which was a three-part miniseries leading up to Apocalypse's The Twelve storyline. Jean (as well as Cyclops, Cable, X-Man, Wolverine, and Archangel) was part of a team to save a group of super-powered children from Apocalypse's newest horseman. My statement wasn't false. In the future, do research before declaring a fact as false. Thanks NeoCoronis 20:39, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed The Astonishing error (I had to go back in my back issues), I had everything right but the A-prefix, which was a simple mistake (I have the entire three-parter sitting on my desk now, so don't tell me I don't have it). Don't go all "capitals" on me when I wasn't being rude to you (it is the internet equivalent of yelling), it shows a startling lack of courtesy, and aggression over a matter that did not warrant it. Lockheed[edit]

Considering fair use images aren't allowed outside of articles (per Wikipedia's policy on fair use images), I'd like to request you take off the Lockheed picture on your talk page. Thanks. Kusonaga 11:00, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since you didn't do it yourself, I did. Kusonaga 09:42, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:MarvelGirl.png)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MarvelGirl.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:NewMutantsII.png[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NewMutantsII.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:59, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Lockheed (comics).jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Lockheed (comics).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 13:02, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TfD nomination of DC and Marvel trademark and copyright notices[edit]

I've nominated four DC and Marvel trademark and copyright templates that you've edited at TfD. Sorry to nominate them for deletion with so little notice to WikiProject Comics, but I feel the templates may be harmful. Matt Fitzpatrick (talk) 03:01, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
