More to be done[edit]

I started cleaning up this article, I think I got it to NPOV! Please continue to clean this up

Anybody know this dude's birthdate?

It was actually 2 songs to Eminem ....pt.2 on the LP. "Behind the musik"

As stated on Behind the Musik, his birthday is June 26, 1975. --Twipie 06:01, 13 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

PT. 2 was on "Its pronounced five two," not on "behind the musik." i should kno, i have both albums--jesusfreek2 20:27, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

All I am asking is 'what more do we want in a Christian Rapper?' He is so clean and that is really nice in this day and age when musicians think they can't sell an album without cursing, swearing and showing off half n_ _ _d women. He is a breath of fresh air. I just pray that God will continue to sustain him and keep him from deviating because it is so very easy to do so in this immoral generation. He is surely a role model. His song "I can call on you" has truly been very inspirational to me.i ask,'how many rappers out there either gospel or secular rap these days without cursing?' So give kudos to this guy-KJ52.You can see that he enjoys doing it cos the rhymes just keep flowing from his inside enthusiastically. I think he's a "natural", he has a passion for what he is doing and so will be in this business for a long time if he continues this way. He has been a blessing to so many people and that is the most important achievement for anyone in life; changing lives positively. He is different, no, unique and he will dine with Kings and Presidents. God bless him. - Mathew (Delaware, US / 11-24-2006)

You don't know the definition of "natural" if you think KJ is a "natural" in rap. -Bruno

This is bizarre.[edit]

Ghetto suburb? Mixed up in drugs, drinking, and chasing women? Who wrote this? How can a suburb be a ghetto? How can chasing women be equated to drug use? Most people consider a young man interested in women as healthy, not unhealthy. Kasreyn 03:13, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

how can a suburb be ghetto ? is that what you said how can it not look at south central LA and watts and Compton all suburbs of LA thats a ghetto not all ghettos are from the inner city when people are getting shot and selling drugs in a suburb its ghetto.

Come guys, as stated on Behind the Music, he grew up in Ybor City, Florida. A very rough section of the greater Tampa Bay area, not a suburb. Saksjn 13:30, 7 February 2007 (UTC)saksjnSaksjn 13:30, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's an important thing to this article to be complaining about him growing up in the ghetto or not.Jesusinmysock 20:01, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MP3 link[edit]

The mp3 link links to a page with various titles, although KJ-52 is mentioned yet has no working mp3 listed. Hence I removed it.Intinn 16:07, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright?[edit]

Much of the article seems to be heavily influenced, if not directly lifted, from the bio for KJ-52 @ AllMusicGuide [1]. Was this page plagarized, or did they copy it from Wikipedia? It seems to be attributed to a "Johnny Loftus."

Nickname "KJ-52"[edit]

Per KJ-52's own FAQ page (http://www.kj52.com/faq.php), "The KJ part is an abbreviation for an old rap name that I used to have". Several sources can be Googled to support that KJ's alias used to be "King J Mack", so I won't list them here. I'm removing the trivia item about "Knowledge and Justification". --Fru1tbat 14:49, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Template removal[edit]

I'm removing several instances of {{Infobox Discography}} from the article and reverting to the old version. They're inconsistent (i.e. only for some albums), they don't link to the album articles, and they duplicate track and other information from the album articles which lengthens this article unnecessarily. I seriously doubt they were intended to be use in an artist's discography section (despite the somewhat misleading name). It looks as if it was meant to replace {{Infobox album}}, though the latter has consensus support, as far as I know. If anyone wishes to use the template, the discography section here isn't the place for it anyway. --Fru1tbat 17:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

KJ-52's baby[edit]

I put something in the trivia section. It should probably be moved later though.Jesusinmysock 20:12, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Graffiti?[edit]

There is currently a line in the bio that says he was "shot and killed" during a concert. Is this graffiti?

Yeah, it's vandalism. Someone already did this earlier and it was reverted. 216.148.248.75 17:45, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

o well its not there now

Discography[edit]

The discography section looks very non-professional. Could someone clean it up, maybe make a chart with some pictures?

Eminem diss[edit]

Why doesnt this even mention his diss toward eminem?

Because he said specifically that it wasn't a diss at eminem. Jcpizzadude 13:43, 27 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aren't there three songs that mention Eminem? Dear Slim, Dear Slim Pt. 2, and Washed Up? LethalReflex (talk) 18:58, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone please explain how dissing Eminem is contraversial? Isn't that normal behaviour? I thought Eminem acted the way he did in an attempt to get others to react to him. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.193.237.146 (talk) 01:38, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Music Videos[edit]

Do you think we should add some music video charts/links? Seems like a good idea...

Thousand foot krutch[edit]

Why does it say in the acts section that he's involved in TFK? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.29.33.172 (talk) 23:49, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He did multiple songs w/ TFK - Rise Up on Collaborations, Let's Go on 52 Television, Run for Cover on Behind the Muzic (The last 2 were just with Trevor) Jwh447 (talk) 02:35, 16 March 2018 (UTC)jwh447[reply]

Charts?[edit]

Shouldn't Charts be changed to Singles or else notes added for the chart positions? --Jimmy Wang Yu: Version 2 (talk) 10:07, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Last name[edit]

KJ-52 is categorized as a "Hispanic or Latino American". However, the surname Sorrentino is an Italian name. It literally translates to "Little Sorrento". Perhaps it could be a Spanish equivalent, but I doubt it. There are also no sources saying whether he is Hispanic or not. Could someone please try and find something? If nothing can be found, all racial categories and references on the page will be removed. TomUSA 23:25, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He's white [and 1/4 Sicillian as stated in a podcast ;D] ..... idk how it got up there..... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.27.43.232 (talk) 17:01, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reference for that podcast? --Walter Görlitz (talk) 17:10, 28 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nickname "Tweezy"[edit]

I can't see where a passing mention in a Facebook post is sufficient to declare something is a nickname and force it into the infobox. Especially when it's one of those hip-hop-make-up-a-word-from-another-word things. Can we show it actually being used in more than a passing mention? Niteshift36 (talk) 02:04, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I see where edit warring is sufficient for ignoring WP:3RR. I was debating whether to reference lyrics as he has two songs that I know of where he references himself as such, however I didn't want to add that either. I'll find a better source within the next few days. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:38, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry it took so long. Articles where he is refered to as "tweezy"
http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/interviews/KJ-52_2009.asp
http://www.crosswalk.com/11620373/
http://www.rapzilla.com/rz/news/38-backstage/12569-tobymac-s-influence-on-hip-hop-and-how-he-signed-john-reuben-over-kj-52
Three song titles where he uses the name.
http://www.jesusfreakhideout.com/lyrics/new/artist_list.asp?artist_id=44
  • "Adventures of Tweezyman"
  • "Tweezy Dance"
  • "Fivetweezy"
There are additional songs where he calls himself "tweezy" and this site has several lyrics, but I won't list them here. Walter Görlitz (talk) 06:53, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Walter, first, you need to stop with the whole edit warring stuff. I removed it initially, reverted your adding back (and explained that it was not sourced) and never removed it again. There was no 3RR violation. I removed it twice, you reverted twice. So you can retract your bad faith claim of edit warring any time now. Second, song titles aren't evidence of his nickname, so there's no reason to discuss those. Inventing a name or word to fit in lyrics isn't giving yourself a nickname. The Jesus Freak entry does talk about why he named his blog Tweezy and cites the ease of saying it as the reason, not "that's my name". The Crosswalk one quotes lyrics. The Rapzilla one just references a song title again. So what you've done is show some song titles and lyrics. I don't think song lyrics are sufficient to make it an infobox entry and that's why I opened this discussion. Since you're an experienced editor, I also tried to talk to you on your talk page and what I got was a passive-aggressive response via edit summary that made another bad faith allegation. Niteshift36 (talk) 14:12, 15 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You know, as I was going to sleep, I was thinking that you should stop edit warring and yet I said nothing. Well, I'll be. An edit war is not breaking 3RR, it's getting very close. No bad faith at all.
As for discussions on my talk page about content in articles, the edit notice on my page specifically states to keep it at the article. Sorry if you got me at midnight and I was tired, but I don't suffer editors who don't read edit notices lightly at any hour.
You'd be wrong about song lyrics, when he refers to himself as "Tweezy" repeatedly though the song. Feel fre to go for third opinion or take it to another form. The content was in the article for years (added 2011-06-24T19:47:32 and has been unchallenged, even through your early edits. It's really not an issue. The name is derived from the "two" in the five-two (see https://web.archive.org/web/20060105061315/http://www.kj52.com/faq.php), but it should never have been removed. Walter Görlitz (talk) 04:08, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Gee, I'm sorry that I cause you sleeplessness. I didn't realize that you live and breath Wikipedia. 2 reverts isn't an edit war. You're just trying to dance around the fact that you shot your mouth off and don't have anything to back it up. You "don't suffer editors" who don't read all your little notices? Gee Walter, I'm so sorry that your personal program wasn't being followed. Of course that totally justifies you acting dickish. I went to your page to address you directly. I mistakenly thought that as an experienced editor, you'd actually engage in a discussion. That was my mistake. I gave you credit you weren't deserving of.
  • Well fortunately, someone did your work for you and provided an actual source that says it. Not sort of uses it in a title or says something in a lyric so it rhymes or flows, but actually says it out right. And he did it without your condescending attitude, false allegations and bad faith. You have yourself a wonderful day. Niteshift36 (talk) 05:24, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't mean to imply that you caused me sleeplessness. I was up late and finished, but two reverts, is an edit war. As for the work done, we work as a team. Walter Görlitz (talk) 15:07, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • No Walter, it's not an edit war. You're one of those people who acts like BRD is a policy that must be followed, rather than a suggestion. If you truly believe 2 reverts was an edit war, I invite you to making a complaint at 3RRN or another noticeboard and see how much steam the complaint gathers. That's what they're there for. I know you won't do it, because you know there's no way it would fly. Yes, this is a team. Cross Bearer did solid work, not shoddy "it's in a song title" work. Niteshift36 (talk) 18:00, 16 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
A single edit is not an edit ware. Two or more is repeated reverting, and so by definition, an WP:EDITWAR. If you'd like to join our team, we'd be glad to welcome you. Until then: 1. stop acting like you're sill in primary school and stop the name calling, 2. learn how to edit. Your indenting on this sort of talk page is wrong. Your edits to the article are poor. 3. Accept you don't know everything. Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:55, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks for your opinion. I'll give it the consideration is merits. Niteshift36 (talk) 18:20, 17 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
