Old[edit]

No pictures of the old one for comparison? --Joffeloff 21:19, 22 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been added now. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 15:38, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It has been removed again due to copyright problems. – Kaihsu 13:40, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Now another copy has been added. – Kaihsu 17:25, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I have not yet seen passport covers with the new coat-of-arms. Anyone spotted any? – Kaihsu 13:40, 26 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have now seen one. – Kaihsu (talk) 13:04, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blazon?[edit]

Is it possible to prepare a blazon for this? – Kaihsu 20:21, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is a blazon in the text, but it's strangely written with those points. Arms Jones (talk) 23:37, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The blazon is from the official blazon, prepared by the Bureau of Heraldry (South Africa) once they were presented with the winning design.

JWULTRABLIZZARD (talk) 20:01, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is that a South African custom, to write the blazon in points that way? Arms Jones (talk) 23:50, 1 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted image[edit]

The image of the arms of South Africa has been deleted due to copyright issues, as has obviously been discussed here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Deletion_requests/Files_in_Category:PD-South-Africa-exempt Arms Jones (talk) 10:09, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, we are able to upload the coat of arms image for use on this page under WP:NFCC. - htonl (talk) 11:01, 31 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Been deleted again. If anybody has the SVG please reupload it under fair use. – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 01:32, 25 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Seal?[edit]

The article mentions a seal of the republic. I haven't been able to find a picture of this. What does it look like? Is it the same as the coat of arms? – Illegitimate Barrister (talkcontribs), 17:02, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Motto[edit]

Is the second glyph in the second word supposed to be a : (colon) or a ꞉ (letter colon)? 2A02:8108:1100:7B71:CCBB:848F:CBC0:1AF8 (talk) 12:24, 8 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copying or transferring the Coat of Arms of South Africa to Wikipedia Commons[edit]

Is it possible to copy or transfer the Coat of Arms of South Africa (SVG version) to Wikimedia Commons? FireDragonValo (talk) 14:51, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

File:Coat of arms of South Africa.svg, the official rendering which is used here, is subject to copyright and we can only use it on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. This means it can't be uploaded to Commons. There is a free version on Commons which has been drawn from the blazon: File:Coat of arms of South Africa (heraldic).svg. htonl (talk) 18:57, 18 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
