Fair use rationale for Image:Readytodieoriginalalbumcover.jpg[edit]

Image:Readytodieoriginalalbumcover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Did Gimme the Loot Actually Sample "Singing in the Morning"?[edit]

The article mentions that "Gimme the Loot" sampled "Singing in the Morning" by Ohio Players, and that that the sample was removed in newer versions of the album. However, if you buy the album on iTunes, only two of the tracks are marked as having samples removed - "Ready to Die" and "Machine Gun Funk". Listening to the old and new tracks online, I don't hear a difference for the "Gimme the Loot" track. Has it been verified that "Gimmie the Loot" actually samples the song "Singing in the Morning"? I see articles mentioning it when talking about the lawsuit, but there's no mention of it having a sample removed other than in this article. Patorjk (talk) 04:21, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I figured it out! The sample occurs at 4:52 under the coughing. It's in the original and on the Remaster. So it appears this sample was *not* removed from the Remastered version of the album. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Patorjk (talkcontribs) 22:18, 27 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

GA on hold[edit]

Refs #2 and #9 need publishers and accessdates. I'm not sure why ref #11 ([1]) is reliable, it appears to be a blog. There are also a few minor MoS issues, for example a space between the ref and the period and miscapitalisations in the lead. Minor issues that can be easily fixed. naerii - talk 20:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've took care of the things you brought up, I removed the 'Re-Issues' section because it was unnecessary and I cleaned-up all the refs. - Guerilla In Tha Mist (talk) 22:29, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Looks great, I'll go fill in all the forms now ;) naerii - talk 10:21, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

censoring[edit]

some of the EXPLICIT cd is censored[2]

is this in all pressings? --66.158.232.98 (talk) 18:14, 28 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm too lazy to click the link, but I'm pretty sure that Gimme the Loot always had "pregnant" and "strangled" censored. Beam 03:18, 29 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

me and my bitch[edit]

how exactly does this sample zapp and roger's computer love?

there's nothing of computer love in it whatsoever.

Gimme The Loot[edit]

Who's the feature on this track? I've never seen it mentioned anywhere, or is it actually Biggie using a different voice? NO HE IS NOT. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.26.11.20 (talk) 05:02, 18 May 2010 (UTC) The feature is old school Biggie. When Biggie first started recording, he had a higher voice but after ready to die ended it's recording hiatus he came back with a lower smoother more confident voice. The song is a mix of the 2 personalities. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.34.127.240 (talk) 15:07, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Easy Mo Bee[edit]

Hardly any mention of Easy Mo Bee's contribution to this album, and a lot of "executive producer Sean 'Puffy the Vampire Playa' Combs"; I'd rewrite it myself if I knew a bit more about it.... 94.9.207.181 (talk) 20:17, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

top importance[edit]

i'm rating this album as to importance, as I think it is one of the most important hip hop albums and albums overall of all time, as well for the projects-SCB '92 (talk) 14:49, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One More Chance single[edit]

The single was actually "One More Chance / Stay With Me (Remix)" and completely different from the album track other than the chorus lyrics. Should it be removed from the album page?
