:Awesomeness:[edit]

That's pretty pathetic that

  • first off that anyone would look this up.
  • Second, the fact that they even have a page for the is ridiculous...
  • It is also pathetic that somone would take the time to crticize others for looking at this page since they obviously looked at it themselves

Well, I found it. And only 2% of passerby look at the talk page.
Sooooooooo..... There must be at least 50 people who looked at it then.

English football team Luton Town[edit]

To me it seems there is a lot of mention of the Luton Town football team and especcialy sentences like "is that Matt Spring Let boo him"& '...so that even now, 10 years on, supporters can still hear boos ringing...' seems to be violating the requested neutral tone of Wikipedia's articles. Can please someone check this? Hviezda14 08:42, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's vandalism and should be removed on sight. --Mus Musculus 14:53, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Useless information[edit]

To me it seems this page has too much useless info, and too little useful info. Thus, I have taken the liberty of deleting the irrevalent stuff (even though I didn't add any information). Come to think of it, this page should be put up for deletion. There's already an article in the Wiktionary.

Or you might just find it disturbing that half the page is devoted to :'Examples'

I've removed what appeared to be an unrelated file on the page. Please revert if this change was in error. Nobuyuki (talk) 06:41, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

History[edit]

Is there any information on the history of it? Who decided to use 'boo'? Thisnamestaken (talk) 18:33, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

MORE HISTORY TALK, HERE: The link on the front page goes to an article on the subject that contains a lot more information. I see no reason why we can't do a short write-up to include some of that info in this article. Orgins of BOOING go back thousands of years!!! Here is the link: http://www.slate.com/id/2141597/?nav=tap3 Thank-You!!! LES Lesbrown99 (talk) 00:54, 2 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation[edit]

Should there be a disambiguation link to seperate this article from booing - the sound made by a bounce with an excessive amount of time spent in contact with the surface. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.101.71.169 (talk) 09:28, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for bringing this up, I am looking for such disambiguation page for the British children television show "Where is Boo!", and this page is absolutely unacceptable. The term boo can be used in so many ways, there are even companies named like that; they have nothing to do with ghosts and scaring (or booing shows due to displeasure). --Molokaicreeper (talk) 16:48, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ok I found the problem, someone redirected BOO into this article. It shouldn't work like that, it should go to Boo instead. Attempting to fix soon. --Molokaicreeper (talk) 16:52, 1 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed right after I posted this, forgot to confirm it here though. --Molokaicreeper (talk) 07:01, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Recent unsourced addition to page[edit]

The recent addition that has been reintroduced multiple times now is unsourced and reads like a how-to. The material also appears to be a copyright violation of another website. Please discuss it here before reinserting the material. - SudoGhost 15:26, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information that is deleted continually[edit]

Booing occurs everyday in every sport and many different areas of life. It is not a how to BOO addition - it is a guideline on behavior that is acceptable and appropriate. some people actually do need guidelines of how to act in public. The website link that is being deleted goes into detaii of The Official Rules of BOOing. Even Pirates have "The CODE" for behaviour...... Booing is fun...... this article should reflect that and not be taken sooooooo seriously — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.111.153.166 (talk) 15:32, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The information is a possible copyright violation, is written as a how-to, and is not appropriate for inclusion as a Wikipedia article. Booing does not have "official rules", and to suggest otherwise is WP:UNDUE. Don't take the deletion of the edit sooooooo seriously. - SudoGhost 15:38, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Booing your home team for bad performance[edit]

I don't know if this is mentioned in the article, but this is a reference for booing your home team or home team players when they don't perform well.

Boo birds serenade Knicks in loss to 76ers NY Daily News. PETER BOTTE. Sunday, March 11, 2012 http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-03-11/news/31146227_1_mike-d-antoni-anthony-nor-stoudemire-sixers

Carmelo Anthony heard noticeable boos during pre-game introductions, but Mike D’Antoni and the rest of the Knicks deservedly felt the crowd’s wrath, too, for the ugliness that transpired thereafter Sunday afternoon at the Garden. Anthony netted a team-high 22 points through three quarters, but he and Amar’e Stoudemire never left the bench in the fourth as the still-disjointed Knicks fell to 2-7 since Anthony returned from a groin injury with a dispirited 106-94 loss to first-place Philadelphia. The negativity got so bad late in the Knicks’ fifth straight loss, portions of the crowd chanted “Fire D’Antoni” — the natural progression from the boos that poured down from the stands through much of the second half. “It’s not fun. Right now we’re finding ways to lose games, rather than finding ways to win them,” Anthony said.

Booing Robinson Cano[edit]

Here are a couple of references for booing. The article states that there are no references.

Affect of booing on players[edit]

Harper: Yankee admits Bombers were jolted by Bronx jeers “I really think the booing spooked a lot of guys," the player said. “A lot of guys hadn’t been booed before, and they couldn’t believe how nasty it got in the stands." Obviously Nick Swisher admitted to being sensitive to such treatment after Game 2, but the player said Swisher was far from alone in his reaction. “A lot of guys were talking about it in the clubhouse," he said. “I was surprised by how much it bothered them. I really don’t think they ever recovered." If that’s true, well, so much for the big, bad Yankees.
