E-quaintance[edit]

it has merrit and is in use! and is spreading quickly over the internet.. bad spelling can be corrected (was posted by 172.197.188.37)

  • Just because a term is in use doesn't mean we need an article about it. For example, I and one friend of mine use the term "Cyringlish" to describe the modified version of the Cyrillic alphabet that we use to write in English to each other. That doesn't mean an article about the alphabet would be noteworthy enough for inclusion in an encyclopedia intended for the general public. If indeed it is spreading over the Internet, we can always describe it later when and if it becomes popular. By the way, the term has been listen on UrbanDictionary since January [1], so it is clearly older than the article claims. [[User:Livajo|力伟|☺]] 01:30, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

  • Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, so we don't have room for dictionary defenitions. I doubt much more can be said about the word, so it doesn't belong here.   • E-delete: Neologism, and not really, seems to me, a great thing for the Wiktionary, either, as it hasn't caught on. There are hunnerds of these words. E-date, e-sex, e-refund, e-coupon, e-tc., and until they catch on, we have to e-liminate. Geogre 00:35, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)
