Comment: De name Leyden is spelled wrong, it should be Leiden.

Cloves?[edit]

As far as i know, Leidse kaas (whatever spelling you use here) never contains cloves. Cloves are only added to "Frisian Clove Cheese" (Friese nagelkaas), which also contains cumin seeds. Also note that Leidse kaas and Komijnekaas are not the same, as Gouda cheese with cumin also exists. The difference between Leiden and Gouda cheese lies mostly in the fat percentage (Gouda is much fatter). Xyboi 01:32, 9 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fat percentage[edit]

One paragraph says it the cheese has 30-40% fat, which matches a lot of other web sites, but a later paragraph says 13.5%, which is presumably wrong. GCL (talk) 19:36, 6 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
