Vehicle: blow up doll ?[edit]

I don't recall this one! Vandalism?

Film[edit]

A film that is based on the movie has been announced and I think it ought to be mentioned in the article, but which section should it be put in? Create a new section for it? Here's the IMDb info: [1] - Quirk 19:17, 15 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Oh, no![edit]

Uwe Boll is directing the Far Cry movie? Even after the mess he made out of House of the Dead?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY??????????????????!!!!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!??????????????? Link 486 8: 43 a.m, on Wednesday December 13th, 2006.

I heard this directly from Boll himself: it's specifically to piss YOU off. Go fig. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.94.56.107 (talk) 01:38, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Pistol Identity. Desert Eagle?[edit]

The picture caption states, "Standing on a beach area with a Desert Eagle". Im not certain but I think the pistol is called something else. Falcon something I think. Does anyone else know for sure?

There is a chance that the pistol in diferent versions (Far Cry, Far Cry: Instincts, etc) may be different, I know some weapons are.

Also I belive Rythie (bellow) is right. The original 'Far Cry' is PC only, 'Far Cry: Instincts' is X-Box exclusive. There is also another called 'Far Cry: Evoulution' which is out for X-Box and X-Box 360, and possibly PC. Im not quite sure; all the different versions are a little confusing.

Guest, The-Edge.

In the PC version, the pistol is named the "Jungle Falcon", apparently a play on the title "Desert Eagle" Far Cry: Instincts is different from the PC version in that it appears that you gain abilities similar to the Trigens. Delta 19:23, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In the manual included with the PC version of the game and in the game itself the pistol is called the Falcon 357 but I have no idea about console versions of the game. You could ask the guy who submitted it to say what console the screenshot is from to clear up the problem. Hydraton31 15:38, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Surely there can be at least one decent screen shot!!! (Lachlan, Far Cry gamer, 15/12/2006).

This was never released on Consoles[edit]

I do not believe this game was released on consoles. I do not know for sure, but I believe that to be true. However, Farcry Instincts is an Xbox Exclusive. Mrja84 24:09 EDST

I think the text could be slightly clearer, from what I can tell, 'Far Cry' is the original game for the PC and 'Far Cry Instincts' is the port to the Xbox, it's not clear what the differences between the version are. User:Rythie

The Xbox version is a whole different game, only shares the engine, universe and character name really...

All the sequences and story line are the same. Other then the resolution was 800x600, uses the controller S made simular, having all the multiplayer maps coming with v1.0, it is the same exact game. User:Renegadeviking

M4?[edit]

Might I ask what an m727 is? It looks very, very much like an M4 to me. Delta 20:18, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Correct me if I'm wrong, anyone who can, but most modern FPS' change the names of weapons in order to avoid a lawsuit or having to pay royalties for using the names of actual weapons. 207.5.213.97 (talk) 05:19, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No plot summary[edit]

The instincts article has one, but this one does not. :/

- I just added one, although it has been a while since I played the game. It should all be correct though. --Tenkosaurus 18:14, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've played it through 3 times, and added details to it including quotes from Doyle and Kriegger. You did pretty well though, good job. -psych787

How do you get God mode? It doesn't work for me!

Saving[edit]

The article claims a quick saving feature was added in a later patch. It must be well hidden, as I've never noticed it yet.

Cyanara 14:01, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The current version allows players to manually save and load via console commands. Not much, but it beats relying on the checkpoints. BobBQ 08:53, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of the HDR section[edit]

I removed the HDR section because that information should be in the HDR article, not in the Far Cry one. ~Uniclyclopedia

Patch 1.4 multiplayer changes[edit]

i added the minor changes in player classes section, much more info is outdated since 1.4 (HntrXXL 00:03, 4 November 2006 (UTC))[reply]

1.4 patch[edit]

Why is the 1.4 patch not available on the official web site? This is why I tried to change this article to reflect the fact that 1.33 is the latest officially available, but someone changed it back :-(. Krymzn.

Krymzn, Patch 1.4 is available from the UBI Patch downloads page... http://www.ubi.com/US/Downloads/Info.aspx?dlId=691

Use by the military[edit]

Hi guys, I am not a big wikipedian, but thought you might find this interesting http://tsj.dnmediagroup.com/story.php?F=2483939. The military is using Far Cry as a training tool. You might like to add this to the article.

Criticism Section removed[edit]

I'm removing the criticism section, all the info in that section is purely POV and unsourced. PowderedToastMan 08:41, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It Is But Requires The New Patch Include This

Free/not free? What's the deal with that?[edit]

So About that "No Plot Summary For Three Months" Thing[edit]

As stated, I am dissapoint, and will therefore make this the first article I add to my watchlist, as everyone else watching this article is clearly an invalid. ScottMcTonyJuice (talk) 04:28, 4 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not resort to personal attacks. Furthermore, I just pruned and reworded the plot section that you added. Better flow, less clutter. Eik Corell 07:38, 4 October 2009 (UTC)
I had to resort to personal attacks bro, how else was I to be sure mumble mumble something something. And yeah, I just added the old one, which was way too long, but it's better than not having one, and I'm lazy. Thanks and good work, then. (This edit was totally useless) ScottMcTonyJuice (talk) 02:01, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Total sales claim.[edit]

As the world wide sales are unsourced I have added one. The latest verifiable source that I could find for world wide sales, quoted figures for Jan 2009. I have changed the world wide figures to reflect this and added the source. Metafis (talk) 22:32, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Expand on Plot[edit]

I'll admit I'm new at this, and I probably don't have a clue as to what's going on, but shouldn't there be more in the plot section? After reading some of the plot sections of other articles, I just think that this one could expand on it a little more. Talk about the missions, the Trygens, Doyle. Again, if this is out of line, please forgive me. Talson Kaot (talk) 04:03, 4 May 2011 (UTC)Talson Kaot[reply]

Genocide[edit]

"genocide of local islanders"? Where did this come from? Is there any support for it? I don't recall seeing much evidence of an indigenous population on the islands, apart from ancient ruins. I rather assumed that Krieger had been mutating mercs who displeased him. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Denorios (talkcontribs) 22:47, 1 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The Band section[edit]

It seems the band 'Farcry' has nothing to do with the actual game, so I imagine that the section should be removed.

Honestly it seems like someone's trying to advertise the band on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 119.160.179.174 (talk) 16:19, 10 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Far Cry (video game)[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Far Cry (video game)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
