  • Image:Drunktanuki2-2.gif, poor drawing, adds nothing to Wikipedia--nixie 11:37, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • I will remove the picture from the article and notify the user. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 17:07, 21 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • it is POV to judge it as poor drawing. The drawing regardless of its quality depicts the popular image of a Tanuki in the Japanese society. This personification of the animal can be found everywhere in Japanese. It does add to wikipedia in terms of Japanese culture, though nothing in zoology. I object to its deletion until a better picture comes along. Kowloonese 19:10, May 26, 2005 (UTC)
      • I have performed a Google search (results: [1]). I believe we can find a picture of the tanuki to use on te encyclopedia instead of this drawing. Zscout370 (Sound Off) 19:34, 26 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
    • SleepyShippo I object to the deletion of my image because it represents the popular tanuki statues seen throughout Japan correctly. If a photo or photos of actual tanuki statues can be found AND not be in any of Wikipedia's image violations, then I would ask that my image, rather than being deleted, be set for optional viewing. In the meantime, until a proper substitute is found, please do not delete my image.

Not deleted. dbenbenn | talk 02:05, 3 Jun 2005 (UTC)

I know you like your drawing, but I think this site needs some actual Japanese art of a Tanuki.

Seriously, this drawing adds little to the article[edit]

There are an abundance of traditional tanuki drawings available that would better represent the important place that tanuki hold in Japanese society. I move that this drawing be stricken and a traditional woodcut or cartoon by a Japanese artist be included. Preferably one that shows one of the early references to tanuki. If no one disagrees I'll go ahead and do so, only because this image has remarkably avoided deletion once before. 219.89.17.38 19:29, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
