Gary Berkowitz[edit]

I removed the word "renowned" from the mention of Gary Berkowitz. In some corners, he may be renowned. But that's a matter of opinion, and Wikipedia is supposed to be objective. Goeverywhere 04:18, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The New WNEW[edit]

CBS today relaunched WNEW on WWFS-HD2 but the WNEW callsign is still assigned to Florida... which is going to be very confusing.StreamingRadioGuide (talk) 16:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

End of WNEW[edit]

I am very tempted to remove the word "beautiful dirge" from the section about WNEW's swan song due to partiality issues. Same goes for the section about the reason why WNEW failed was because instead of going wall-wall Greatful Dead when Jerry Garcia died they played Hootie. It reads like some music snob's personal opinion.

Mainstream AC or Hot AC[edit]

Your statement is original research. Mediabase 24/7 is viewed to be a reliable source in regard to radio station formats in the U.S. Mediabase lists WWFS as a Mainstream AC. The exclusion of a particular era of music means nothing, in regard to radio station formats. If that were the case, I could put random 60s songs on the CHR station that I work for and claim that the format of the station was Oldies, just because it plays some 60s songs, which would make it "seem" to someone that only happened to hear those songs when they tuned in that the station was an Oldies. Also, FWIW, your statement is wrong. I just looked at the playlist for WWFS on Mediabase and it shows that there were 24 titles from the 80s that have played on the radio station in the last seven days, some as many as 6x. Strikerforce^{Talk Review me!} 17:40, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Bringing this up again, for the benefit of Bull-Doser - WWFS is listed on the Mediabase 24/7 Mainstream AC panel. Mediabase, not BDS, is considered to be the industry standard in the U.S. Also, per the CBS Radio corporate website[1], their own company calls them a Mainstream AC.
