Template talk:Fdw-uo

Idw-uo stands for "Image deletion warning — unverified orphan".

Whenever an unverified orphan is listed on Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion, this template should be placed on the uploader's user talk page. It is used like this: if the name of the image is 123.gif, then {{idw-uo|Image:123.gif}} should be included. Remember to include the "Image:" before the image name.

I can't be bold as the template is protected. Please change the link to Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion to Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion/Unverified orphans, at least temporarily until there's a decision on where to list UOs. -- Paddu 06:04, 25 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Variants

When the image is listed for reasons other than for being an unverified orphan, Template:idw should be used instead. When the image is listed on Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images, Template:idw-pui should be used. And when the image is listed on Wikipedia:Copyright problems, Template:idw-cp should be used.

Blanking?

Using templates with its own header

Keep in mind when a template generates its own header, you should ALWAYS use the subst: prefix when using a template especially in user talk pages!! When a template generates its own header and a substitute is not used, the edit link next to the header will link to the actual template!
