Purkinje Images?[edit]

I'm no expert on Purkinje, but I remember working near "dual-Purkinje eye trackers". Some online reeeeesearch reveals that they were "dual-Purkinje image eye trackers". I can find descriptions of Purkinje images, but no direct connection besides the name. Are these images named in his honor, or did he help discover them? Either way, there should probably be a mention of them. -- Ventura 21:49, 2005 Apr 22 (UTC)

fingerprint indentification?[edit]

Fingerprint - "1823: Jan Evangelista Purkyně, a professor of anatomy at the University of Breslau, published his thesis discussing 9 fingerprint patterns, but he did not mention the use of fingerprints to identify persons."

Jan Evangelista Purkyně - "...recognised fingerprints as a method of indentification in 1823."

patriot?[edit]

Can someone say something about the inclusion of "patriot" in the opening paragraph? The article says no more about this, so it seems unsupported by the article. Thanks. Doctormatt (talk) 22:43, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

true, and in any case, "patriot" does not seem to be a category worth mentioning there. Nahabedere (talk) 07:31, 6 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Move[edit]

I most often come across his last name spelled as "Purkinje", but I am not sure if "Jan Evangelista" or "Johannes Evangelist" is more common for his personal names in modern English usage. In either case, I think the article should be moved. --Khajidha (talk) 18:34, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

just your typical everyday binge[edit]

He also experimented with nutmeg that same year, when he "washed down three ground nutmegs with a glass of wine and experienced headaches, nausea, euphoria, and hallucinations that lasted several days", which remain a good description of today's average nutmeg binge.

Oh? Are nutmeg binges a common thing nowadays? —Tamfang (talk) 20:38, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
