Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:

  • You can introduce yourself on the new users page.
  • You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too.
  • Remember to use the show preview button before you save a page.
  • If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page.

Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Angela. 22:43, Mar 31, 2004 (UTC)

Hi there. Thanks for your note on the new user log. Having a user account definitely makes the Wikipedia easier to use. Take advantage of your watchlist. It's handy. Isomorphic 04:12, 1 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Did you know vs. In the news[edit]

You expressed interest in the front page layout on Talk:Main page. Could you please vote in the poll there? Thanks, silsor 07:25, Apr 7, 2004 (UTC)

Linspire[edit]

What's with the sextuple jeopardy link? I don't see how it is relevant to Linspire which it redirects to. - UtherSRG 13:44, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC)

  • It is a term made up by Micheal Robertson, CEO of Lindows inc. He used it to describe his legal battles with Microsoft. The term dosen't seem to be used anywhere else, so I redirected it to Linspire. Krik 13:50, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC).

Then you should probably make some note of the term in the article itself. If the term doesn't belong in the article, then the redirect should be deleted, and I can take care of that for you. - UtherSRG 13:58, 20 Apr 2004 (UTC)

Gary Wilmott and vandalism policy[edit]

Please do not add Gary Wilmott references to articles: see Renault [1]. Further japes like this will lead to your being banned from editing. -- The Anome 10:34, 7 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and strangely enough 212.219.56.244's Gary Wilmott-related contribution to Transmission Control Protocol [2] also came from Filton College, and that there was also multiple vandalism from the same IP range in November 2003. Would you like us to block Filton College's whole /28 netblock, or will the silly games stop, please?-- The Anome 10:39, 7 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Gary Wilmott" (user:Gazwim) is a freind of mine. He is always being silly, on all websites, not just Wikipedia. He seen me using it and fought it would be "fun" to add his name around the place, using my account too. I have also made legitimate contributions to Renault. The november contributions are not related to us.
