Section in History re: Civil War[edit]

The history section does not adequately explain the transfer of Pocahontas County from Virginia to West Virginia and I want to include a subsection on Civil War battles in the county, soldiers, etc. There is not enough to justify a separate article such as Pocahontas County in the American Civil War. Well, you don't need permission to add such a section to the article, but if you do, please try to include citations to reliable sources that can be used to verify the information. Published books about the Civil War in West Virginia, and to a lesser extent, local histories of Pocahontas County (both preferably with page references) would be your best bet, although you can (with caution) refer to on-line databases of Civil War soldiers, units, and battles. Bear in mind that privately-run websites may or may not be considered reliable sources, depending on how they're run and for what purpose; anyone can start a web site about a particular Civil War unit, but that doesn't mean that the information on it is reliable or readily verified. Don't worry if you make a mistake; mistakes are easily edited and corrected. If the section does go to six or seven paragraphs, it might well be worth splitting into a separate article. Many articles on Wikipedia are no longer than that. But I'd say, write it first, and then we'll see if it fits well where it is, or needs to be split off. Let me know if you need any help!
