Plural[edit]

Why is this article in the plural? Wiki-style dictates that articles should never be in the plural unless it's unavoidable (e.g. pants). Articles similar to this are in the singular (e.g. Academy Award, not "Academy Awards"). Anyone who is a big contributor to this article should think about moving it and changing the tense to singular. If no one does, I'll try to remember to do it in a few days, unless someone can provide a compelling reason why it should stay in the plural. Frecklefoot | Talk 14:06, Apr 12, 2005 (UTC)

Since there's really no reason not to move it, I've gone ahead and done it. Next: the Harvey Award(s) and Kirby Award(s). Tverbeek 01:30, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Notability?[edit]

A question has come up as to whether being nominated for and/or winning an Eisner award is considered significant enough for another article to meet WP's notability guidelines. See Lackadaisy's Talk page for more info, but I'd appreciate opinions here. Doniago (talk) 14:57, 18 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

– Each of these fall under the WP:NCPLURAL case of being a group of awards. Each was originally at the plural title until the small discussion above, but since then, most award pages that contain several awards have been moved to the plural with consensus (e.g. RMs at Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, Emmy Awards, Tony Awards, Golden Globe Awards, etc.). Note that single awards like the Bill Finger Award and Russ Manning Award are being left at the singular. — 2pou (talk) 19:27, 17 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - Most RS describe the event and the subject in the plural unless they're talking about a specific category or winner. Argento Surfer (talk) 14:22, 20 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
