The La Brea Tar Pits of Wikipedia[edit]

I got a chuckle out of your description (title of this section) of the Douglas MacArthur article. I remember first reading this article several years ago and being totally unimpressed with it. I tried to make a change or two (with citations), but these were reverted. Since then I have avoided even looking at this article so as to prevent getting my blood pressure up. Today, for whatever reason (perhaps too much time on my hands), I decided to look at the discussion page to see if anything of interest had been added. Often, I find the discussion pages of more interest than the articles. Ever read The Ghost Mountain Boys by James Campbell? It has some more dirt on MacArthur from the New Guinea campaign. Thomas R. Peter Isaacson[edit]

Hi there. I noticed this article pop up as a DYK nom and decided to have a look, as I've been involved in a great many Australian military aviation biographies here on Wikipedia. There are a lot of style issues with the article at the moment. I can see you've expanded it to a useful degree lately so I don't want to appear to try and take it over, but are you cool with me just going ahead and improving it? Probably be quicker than going through everything on talk or some such. Frankly I wouldn't pass it for DYK as it is but, with a bit of work, I think it could not only achieve that but also be assessed as a B-Class article. Hi again -- I've heavily copyedited for style and added a good deal more material that was at hand. On 8 July 2012, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Peter Isaacson, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that the biggest aircraft ever to be flown under the Sydney Harbour Bridge was a Lancaster bomber piloted by Flight Lieutenant Peter Isaacson in 1943? I'd intended to do so after fleshing out the later life section with some dates, as we discussed on my talk page, and after discussing with you, but there it is. Okay, added/updated what I think is worthwhile. There were other dates/positions but none notable in WP terms, and I didn't want to just rehash his resume from Who's Who. I think it's fine to submit to the GA review now but if you have some more to add, pls do so -- IMO, however, we should try and let our GA reviewer loose on it ASAP so things don't drag...
