Old talk[edit]

I edited the original article, getting the geographical references straight and making the historical part more precise.

Here we meet again, Mr Ruhrjung.

Regarding the reference to the "Phony War" ("Sitzkrieg") it should be noted that this term relates to the situation in continental Europe, a period of non-war between Germany, on the one hand, and the UK and France, on the other hand. The Winter War was a specific matter between the Soviet Union and Finland, to be carefully distinguished from the general course of WWII.

Regarding the term "Continuation War" it should be mentioned that it is a peculiarly Finnish term. Finns may perceive their campaign of 1941 to be a direct continuation of the Winter War which had ended a year earlier; for the Soviet Union it formed a new period of hostilities, only this time - because of the Finnish alliance with Germany - indeed in the larger context of the World War.
