How come the whole fac of uni of pensylvania merit their separate webpages?[edit]

Is this an encyclopaedia or an almanac, or a vanity project or whatever? 91.132.224.196 (talk) 08:19, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have no connection with the university, nor do I live close to it. I presume you're asking me because I copyedited the page of an academic, but copyediting doesn't mean I know anything about the subject.
I suggest you ask at talk:University of Pennsylvania, with examples of faculty who have articles but don't appear to meet WP:PROF. Alternatively, follow the procedures at WP:DEL to nominate some of the articles for deletion. Some of the deletion procedures will require you to register an account.-Mr Adequate (talk) 23:56, 27 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Giovanni Mascellaro[edit]

I am Giovanni Mascellaro.I had created a page about myself just a few days ago but you speedly deleted it owing to short of notability of Giovanni Mascellaro.

I am a poet and my works can be traced on http://www.aphorism.it, where there are over 50 aphorisms of mine too, and a novel of mine (Jeena, Storia di una bisex) which is now in the home page of this site which hosts all poets of the world the most famous ones as well as others less famous whose works before been published must be judged and accepted by a board formed of famous writers, poets and critics. I am enrolled as composer with Società Italiana degli Autori ed Editori (SIAE), after passing examination of composition (music and lyrics) since 1985. In 1976 I published a book "IL Marketing nell'azienda italiana", which was used by many banks and which allowed me to become a University teacher of Bank Marketing and Bank Law. This book is traceable at present at CDS(http://www.centroimpastato.it/php/bibsrch.php3?displaypage=39&ord=)

I hope that what I have specified above can confirm my notability under Wikipedia guidelines. since everything I wrote can be easily checked. I have a deep respect for all wikipedists and for this Encyclopaedia and it would be a great honour for me and all those who esteem me if I could be included in it. Hoping this might happen, I thank you in advance.

Please read WP:COI. You should not create an article on yourself. Someone else will create an article on you if they agree that you are notable.-Mr Adequate (talk) 01:59, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

July 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Emerica, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Sorry, you don't look like a vandal, but the recent edit you made to Emerica looks like vandalization. Chexmix53 (talk) 01:25, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The change I made to Emerica was to revert a probable vandalism by User:74.5.145.233, who added what is probably his name or that of a friend to the article. If you look at the edits of that IP, you will see a similar vandalism which occurred a few minutes earlier on a different article, and then two more blatent vandalistic edits. I reverted all edits, and gave the IP a standard test message. There is a small chance that despite the later edits being vandalism, the one to Emerica was genuine. In this case, why have you not restored the IP's edit, and preferably also added a source?
Given the timing of your warning to me, I think it is more likely that you noticed a different IP editing Emerica after me, and removing an unrelated vandalism that I had not noticed. Since I was the previous editor, you may have assumed that I had added that. If this is true, you have done me an injustice, and I would like an apology.
I now see another likely old vandalism on that page - Yo Momma is apparently on the Flo team - but I think I had better not edit the article further.-Mr Adequate (talk) 01:12, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I stated in the warning that you didn't look like a vandal. The edit that you made appeared to be vandalism at the time, but I just went and checked it again, and you are right, you were fixing something. When I patrol recent edits I usually just check the last edit made, and I was a little distracted and wrong. I'm sorry. Chexmix53 (talk) 20:32, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
